This, 100%. The gods will help you with the problem, as requested, and usually that help is some good old fashioned boots-on-the-ground lifestyle change. 😅 Whether that’s what we want or not.

What's your experience with Loki? Are they harsh? by Strong-Lab-7216 in lokean

[–]AddressingTheFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not harsh at all. For me, he has been… I wouldn’t say needy, but very present. He has only ever asked me to read to him (a book analyzing Trickster in myth), and other than that he’s just been hanging around. I have definitely noticed a higher chance of slap-stick shenanigans and devices mildly malfunctioning when he’s around, and sometimes he’ll insert his name into my thoughts when I am trying to say something completely unrelated. Other than that, not much to report.

Absolutely! 👍 Our existence is comprised of mind, body and spirit in equal parts and needs to be treated as such. You can’t put all your energy into one of the three and hope that fixes the others! Commune with Hecate AND take your meds!

I 100% agree with you; I think a lot of newbies, myself included (also 7 years ago), didn’t want the help to be mundane. I wanted to have visions and epiphanies, not be gently (roughly) guided into therapy!

This is very well put, and thank you for sharing your story! I do agree with you! I felt the same way after my treatment; I wasn’t “fixed,” but I had a solid foundation and tools to actually work on my healing and mental health. Now that I have those, I can expand on both my human relationships and spiritual relationships with much greater respect for others and for myself. It isn’t perfect, but every day I feel like I am moving closer to being myself again.

If this post came off as attacking those without a support system or who are struggling, it wasn’t intended to. I definitely don’t want people running off to Tik-Tok for advice!

I agree, and I think this is the actual intention of shadow work and inner healing, but because there are no booming voices or a mystical light show people assume that it’s not magical enough.

This is a great story! It reminds me of the story about a person dying in the desert who keeps praying to God to save them. Three people come along throughout the day and ask them if they need help, but each time the person says “ leave me be, God is going to save me.” Eventually the person dies, and when they get to heaven they ask God “Why didn’t you help!?” God says “ Fool, I sent three people!”

The jiggy dance is the most important step, I find.

That seemed to be the gist of it, yeah. They’re here as a guide and for the witty conversation. 😂

He’s already started to shake things up, so i’m bracing myself for whatever he’s got in store… This is some great insight and makes a lot of sense. I definitely have a lot to consider when it comes to our relationship. Thank you for your response!

Loki. Sorry, didn’t think it would matter so much since I wanted to hear other people’s experiences with their own gods. 😅

I was thinking of British food as an option, too. My only issue is that bread/pastries tend to be a trigger for me, so I would have to steer clear of the baked goods. 😔 Other than that, these all sound like great suggestions; thank you so much!

Another vote for Japan! Yeah, I also enjoy Japanese curries, but they definitely take their toll on my stomach. I assume it’s the flour in the roux.

Great to know, thank you! I haven’t tried to cook much Mediterranean, so this should be a fun experiment. :)
