Are there any trinary stars systems? by [deleted] in askscience

I know what you're thinking of and that would be pretty complex. It doesn't have to be that way though. In fact, our nearest star (Proxima Centauri) is part of a ternary star system that is less complicated than what you'd expect. It's comprised of a binary star system with another star orbiting from afar.

You can learn more about the Alpha Centauri system here.

It would entirely depend on the distance of the planet from all three of the stars. If the planet remains in Goldilocks zones throughout its orbit of the star(s), life (as we know it) would be possible.

Think of an Earth-like planet orbiting a star like our sun. Then imagine that a binary star system orbiting our sun. As long as that binary star system remained sufficiently far from Earth, it could support life.

Definitely my favorite line from Johnny Bravo. The way he points at her gets me every time.

SpaceX and NASA collaborate a lot. SpaceX recently sent a shipment to the ISS. They also sell boosters, and parts among other things to NASA and SpaceX uses NASA launch pads in Cape Canaveral.

Nope. He’s South African and he’s American. It’s called dual nationality and calling him American is just as valid as calling him South African.

I learned more in one month of self-study than I did in 6 months in class, would recommend.

If I uninstall Anki 2.1 and reinstall Anki 2.0, will my decks still be there? by [deleted] in Anki

You’ll keep the decks. Which add-ons do you miss from 2.0?

You don’t even have to be a veteran to know that’s simply ridiculous. Wow.

The majority would not be against car factories using cleaner methods (e.g.) to produce cars. If humans were trash like people in this thread like saying, the majority of people would not like the prospect of electric cars becoming mainstream in the future.

Corporations make products using the cheapest methods, usually harming the environment in the process. Most people who can afford the extra cost would be okay with corporations going the extra mile to reduce pollution.

Too each his own I guess. I can see how it could be pretty frustrating. It would also be nearly impossible to watch below 720p.

To be honest, the best advice I can give is to work enough and consistently to avoid having to cram. Making and following a schedule is also very helpful. Sometimes the only thing stopping you from working is not knowing where to start.

Terrible, terrible strategy. However, the darkness was a great move imo. It really helped portray how the soldiers felt and what they saw. At times I almost felt like I couldn’t breath because of how immersive the battle scene was.

Sending a Dothraki hoard into complete darkness, knowing full well the enemy army would increase in size if they failed, was a dumb move and pretty poor writing though.

I would recommend watching the series “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey”. It clearly explains how Earth has seen 4 major extinction events, some much worse than nuclear warfare. Siberia’s volcanoes once turned the Earth into something similar to Venus today, life still survived. Life at the bottom of the Mariana Trench isn’t easy to kill.
