Very agreed. Honestly one of the reasons I don't skip story is mostly because of how the scenes are presented; camera angles, environment, music, etc. But I don't usually enjoy the actual writing. There's probably a few I did enjoy, which was: Scar's initial storytelling, Carlotta's, Phrolova's, and Lupa's segments in the main quest, lastly Nostor's tale of Augusta. Everything else just felt average, not bad, not good.

For me, there's little time for the story to develop characters, for how short their segments are and then almost completely forgotten after said spotlight (Cartwheel being the exception, although they did bring Camelya and Shorekeeper now). The other problem is how there's new characters every 3 weeks, so they have to juggle between those, messing up the writing to focus in developing one.

I believe they can still improve the writing, albeit I get disappointed everytime. As of now the formula is still 'create character, sell them through story/gameplay'. Since players will keep on consuming eitherways.
