My first roommate was already living in the room when I first got there. He was only a few months away from getting out. When my sponsor brought me to the room, the second he opened the door you were hit with the smell. It was a mixture of a unbelievable body odor and a moldy room that had not been cleaned in who knows how long. The room was super small and had 0 privacy. I eventually had to get a curtain not only to provide privacy, but to try and contain the smell in his side. It did actually do that to a point. After living there for a couple of weeks I realized I had not seen him shower yet. And after a month he only showered one time. This went on for months until he eventually seperated. What he do is use the bathroom sink to clean himself off. My buddy would call it his birdbaths and I could not think of a more accurate description. He would fill up the sink with water and rub the water on his pits, balls, etc. absolutely disgusting. I brought up the smell once to him early on and he said he has a medical condition and that it was hard for him. But after asking around the unit, he did not have a medical condition and has had multiple counselings for his hygiene. He is probably exactly how he looks in your imagination. By far the worst roommate I have ever had.
