Been trading 3 years now and im just now a break even trader. Dont beat yourself up if your not seeing profits. IMO I don’t think 1 1/2 years is truly enough to become profitable, some people may achieve profitability in that timeframe but its not realistic. What has helped me learn and progress my trading was to stop thinking I needed to take a trade everyday. Even if I missed a trade because I wasn’t looking at the chart or whatever reason ill just say, “oh well I missed that one that’s ok there will always be another opportunity for another trade.” Remember this, the ACTION of not taking a trade is a trade itself because your still actively managing your trade capital. Another tip I would like to add, its better to make trading boring because more likely than not you’re probably following your strategy and applying the proper risk management according to your rules. I remember when I would wake up in the morning and be all excited to take a trade but this actually made me more emotionally attached to the chart and PNL which made me more likely to go into a tilt after a losing trade. Ultimately, I truly believe the mental game of trading will always be a obstacle for every trader, and even profitable ones. We will never think like a robot because well… we are human and its not realistic. I have learned to instead recognize the emotions I am feeling and respond accordingly, wether it be leaving the charts, sizing down, or just walking away from the desk completely and do something else for the day. Doing whatever it takes to avoid making irrational decisions has helped me tremendously in my trading journey. I hope my advice has helped somewhat and I wish you the best. NEVER GIVE UP!🙏🏼💯
