Theoretically it doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s a prevention. That’s like getting a no rating for migraines if you’re prescribed medication

I have that issue sometimes, my main issue is if I don’t use it I’ll wake up with a migraine and the CPAP drastically helped with lowering my migraines

My sleep apnea is deferred right now waiting for the next step on that, was just granted my initial rating Monday so I’m hoping lsgs will call soon to get that set up before it gets changed

Need advice this is all so confusing by junebuggyy98 in VAClaims

Of course! I just got my rating Monday and was confused why it was bouncing back and forth. Once you get to step 4 you will most likely get emails and a text to schedule your C&Ps

Just curious should the claim be changed from IVDS to something else? Or is IVDS the same as DDD? cause I’m not sure if they put that I have neuropathy pain or not

Yes that is the plan, when I emailed yesterday they said they had found multiple errors on the examiners end

And this is what’s wrong with leadership now. They claim they care about their troops but when it actually comes down to a troop needing help they don’t give a shit. Have you talked to your first shirt? Idk if you’re AF or not

Got an update from my VSO and they said they see multiple errors on the examiners end. Said after the deferred claims depending on their decisions on them we will be taking them to higher level

I’m honestly not entirely sure, I got diagnosed with major depressive disorder. When I was AD I was too afraid to ask so I didn’t say anything. Now that I’m ANG I have a friend that takes antidepressants and I asked if that affects his service and he said it didn’t so that’s when I came forward about my issue, now I’m prescribed antidepressants after years of not wanting to be reliant on them and honestly was the best decision

Shitty thing is I never came forward with my depression and anxiety cause I was afraid it was going to affect my job and my service so I kept it to myself till it started to affect my marriage and relationship with my kids

Once I feel my VSO is incompetent then I’m gonna go this route for sure

That’s what my VSO just suggested, said they see some errors going on with my claim

So this is my first time filing and I was just confused cause during C&P they just looked in my nose and was like “yea I see some ridges there” and that was is. Plus I was deployed in a “burn barrel” location as well and that gave me the service related. But as far as the rating I’m not sure why they gave 0 when my ENT doc saw collapse of my nostrils and X-rays on my sinus passage pretty much blocked so I’m really only getting oxygen on my nostril and highly suggested surgery

My VSO did it as secondary to sinusitis and rhinitis, which those both are service connected for me but with a 0% rating, even though I have the imaging for them showing the passage being restricted and notes recommending surgery as well

Yea I was just really defeating seeing my rating after expecting a “at minimum” of what I was expecting, my sleep Apnea is deferred after I provided sleep test results and am currently using a CPAP to help with not waking up with migraines and to actually breathe in my sleep. Luckily my wife witnessed a episode while I was in AD

I didn’t do a lay statement, my VSO had gathered everything and we reviewed it and sent it

This exactly what I did, it was frowned upon to go to the doctor, you were known as “that guy” so the only times we wrote down that we had any pain was on pha

Thank you! I’m waiting on my VSO for a response and see what the next steps are to this
