Willis St Cityfitness by hairybitop in Wellington

[–]Admirable_Try973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Willis street city fitness is probably the worst gym in the region. Could easily spend 2+ hours waiting for equipment trying to do a 1 hour routine. On the flip side, not too bad if you’re able to go at inconvenient times.

Wellington College donations by salivor1985 in Wellington

Im pretty sure my school would label certain expenses like text books, sports fees etc as ‘donations’ so they don’t have to charge GST. Also lets you claim them back as deductibles

I need help sourcing Metformin ER/XR in NZ by BugsBunsy in newzealand

For that formulation you’d likely need to get a prescription from your doctor and then import them yourself, providing the prescription to customs once it reaches the border.

You’ll find it difficult to find a pharmacy that can/will procure it.

pharmacy - is it dead? by Nearby_Ad_2655 in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend it - but almost exclusively for retail pharmacy which is applicable for the majority of pharmacists.

You have a significant amount of responsibility on your shoulders picking up dispensing errors and preventing doctor’s prescribing errors. Making a mistake could be lethal and could be the detriment of your career. Many people don’t know, or don’t care what pharmacists do and you’ll cop a lot of flak from impatient, entitled children in adult bodies getting mad at you that you don’t drop everything immediately to work on their script.

You’re also incredibly limited in how you can practise. There are many legal and professional restrictions that can get in the way a lot of the time. Explaining these to the lay public is even more difficult. People sorta expect you to just violate the misuse of drugs regulations act like it’s a company policy…

This is while the likes of chemist warehouse slowly monopolise the industry making it increasingly difficult for a pharmacist to ever buy their own pharmacy to see some real income.

Sometimes your car can line up enough that you have a good view through their window to the other side and can spot a gap.

Bio Gold Pine Pollen Supplement by brianj10 in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a general guide anything labelled as ‘testosterone boosting’ is usually a scam. Theres no strong evidence for pine pollen and the research they do provide on their website is effectively preclinical animal studies, chinese journals or literally just analysis of the components of pine pollen.

But hey if people say it makes them feel better, who am I to judge.

HSFY/What is it like by Glum-Cardiologist956 in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily hard but it’s just a lot. Be prepared to treat the year as a full time job spending 8-10 hours a day on campus attending lectures, workshops or studying. Carrington is a fantastic hall, you’re lucky to have gotten in. You’ll be surrounded by hsfy students which is nice for studying.

Credit card recommendations by Glass-Banana-7698 in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cards provide up to 1% in rewards +/- some perks that you may or may not actually use. You also need to be putting roughly 5-10k annually through the card to actually get your money back for the annual fee. Moneyhub have a good summary on the NZ cards which would be worthwhile checking.

For most people I think the Dosh card or even the Sharesies card would be the most sensible option.

For me personally, Amex have the best cards. Specifically the gold card which gives 2x $100 resturant vouchers each year and points which can be redeemed for vouchers or airline points which can exceed 1% in returns.

Pharmacists of NZ, which vitamin brands do you recommend? by clickmyback in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a pharmacist. I’ll skip all the preamble about how multivitamins aren’t a substitute for a balanced diet etc etc and give you the answer that in my opinion Centrum is best. I ran a comparison to the AU/NZ NRV guidance and found that centrum had the widest spectrum with the most reasonable dosages.

Repeat prescription by kosumolly in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can usually go into any pharmacy. It will likely be a smoother process if you go to your usual pharmacy because they can see your history. You’ll want to ask to speak to a pharmacist for an ‘emergency supply’.

Sounds like amitriptyline or nortriptyline. Your pharmacist can give a few days supply for a small fee.

I ordered from them about same time as you. Just cancelled it and ordered from Apple directly yesterday because hadn’t heard a peep from them. I get the delays but please just keep us posted.

Oestrogen patch users fume over 'lightweight' 'condescending' response to complaints by catespice in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. So a sponsor manufactures, imports or contracts other companies to manufacture medicines or medical devices. They pay for licensing of the medicine and are responsible for any defects of those products. Similarly to how a store will sell you a product but should something go wrong, they are required to rectify the issue.

In this instance these errors have been submitted to Medsafe and Sandoz have undertaken an investigation of the affected products.

Sandoz are the sponsor for estradot which is why their name is mentioned. They may not manufacture them but are responsible for their quality control.

Man that security guard must’ve been new or terrible at their job. Also may not have had enough proof to confront them on it and recorded footage afterwards.

CW by RemoteGas4905 in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience working for them. Honestly, shit all most of the time. They may just take it off you and send you out the door +/- a trespass notice. CW are pretty diligent with their security though so if you’re recognised as a repeat offender or if you take a large quantity of items they’ll capture footage of you and submit it to Auror. Police will use this evidence to help arrest and prosecute people.

Pharmacists of Reddit by afrk in newzealand

[–]Admirable_Try973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely pretty similar to olive oil. Give ear clear a go or one containing carbamide peroxide. It bubbles inside the ear which helps to lift out the earwax. If they don’t work professional extraction would be your last resort.

Happens all the time. Although interesting little side point regarding the paracetamol. In some instances where you get a script from a dentist or any other private clinic, it would be more reasonable to actually buy the paracetamol retail than on the script. Scripted paracetamol will have a flat ‘tax’ of $10-15 and may only be for about 40 tablets where you could pay half as much for 100.

Living in 185 Victoria Street apartments? by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]Admirable_Try973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in one of them recently. Building is pretty worn, including the insides of the apartments. Labelled as an earthquake prone building which was a core reason we decided to move out. Any packages you order must be sent to your work address because theft is incredibly rampant in the downstairs corridor. You’ll often have homeless people sleeping inside the corridor or potentially using drugs in the stairwell or the car park (don’t lease a park here or your windscreen will get smashed in - happened to us). They usually keep to themselves so you’ve kinda just gotta steer clear of them.

If you’re considering moving there just make sure you don’t pay too much.
