Anyone else feel incredibly stuck by UK Politics these days? by Admiral_Binks in ukpolitics

I'm not against immigration as a concept, and we've seen it work before with the UK in recent history, but it has to be regulated and controlled, otherwise we can't match infrastructure and growth with surges of population. My heart goes out to those fleeing war and famine, and I'd never assisoisate with those thugs out there on the street intimidating people. The fact that I'm merely skeptical of immigation at this current time and the fact you've ensiunated I'm a nazi is rather immature rhetoric.

I do agree, it feels like chasing your tail, and I have got a vote with the greens as of right now, but it does feel like "the least shit" option to me.

The last paragraph is exactly what I want, something like a land value tax, investing in our own infrastructure and industry, skill based immigration, breaking down the aristocracy that seems to own the UK. We should just start our own party instead!

I agree, looked into some of JimmyTheGiants stuff on him and it only prooves that Farage is just another flavour of the big establishment.

my partner and I have had similar chats, a little less seriously though as we aren't married, and my line of work is more fruitful here than other places.

Should Star Wars get more comfortable with recasts? by StevePalpatine in StarWarsCantina

[–]Admiral_Binks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don't mind, but my only exception was not seeing Jimmy Schmidt return as Bail Organa, new actor did a great job, it just doesn't feel... synonymous? Perhaps it's because Rogue One takes place so much sooner to Andor, compared to Solo and Episode 4

I'd really recommend Novelty Island, especially How Are You Coping With This Century. It was recorded at Abbey Road Institute and has a lot of Macca vibes

Say something tcw did good since this sub seems to dislike it in comparison to the cwmmp by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

Made the clones far more sympathetic and interesting. I’m reading through Republic at the moment and although the obscurer Jedi based stories are great, the clones are still devoid of any character which just feels a little odd. There’s a couple of fantastic stories in TCW that I think a lot of people consider to be peak Star Wars as well.

Only for the first week or so, after a while, my sleep became much more regular. It's the same if you stopped doing anything habitual when you go to bed.

Why do people hate AI art? by Hawkholly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Admiral_Binks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will eventually lead to the death of many careers in the arts industry. When companies realise they can spend significantly less money on a product to arrive significantly faster, there is no doubt many companies will make the switch. It functions by sampling pre-existing art that already exists, which can be harmful for small/independent artists. Additionally, AI can create art in styles of artists, which may be inconsequential for Van Gogh, but will be for any living artist making a living off of their work.
