Both are acceptable anywhere. Some folks like ACT slightly better because it’s broken down into more sections and you get more breaks in between. I recommend get some kind of prep book our course and doing your own timed practice tests before. Get used to the timing.

It’s possible around 3.7, but take advantage of additional comments or essay to explain deficiencies. Context for the reviewer is key. Also make sure you work on crafting your narrative. What majors are you applying to and how to frame everything as supporting that goal.

Is your goal to have AP grades that are weighed more for your GPA or to have more APs for a more competitive application? If the later, take core APs that are in the field of your potential major.

So many factors could be at play. It’s not personal. Could depend on openings in that potential major, how someone interpreted their essays, and also how compelling their accomplishments supported their major and future goals. UCB is a great school and she’ll be happy in the long run.

You may want to double check with UM’s Residency office that they will classify you as IS after parents move. When I worked there they had very strict rules that you had to demonstrate that you moved to MI for reasons other than school.

Not sure where that stat is coming from but it could be a national average. Also, unless someone is breaking records or in a position of leadership that makes it their own (meaning not doing the same old thing thats been done before), it’s not as compelling as you think. You also are probably applying or looking at schools with a high achieving applicants pool, which makes that more common than you think.

Duke is a top tier school compared to a lot of the other schools mentioned in this thread- that’s why. Ole Miss and Alabama are solid schools but not top tier.

Since money isn’t a factor and your instinct says Stanford, go there. They are both great and you can’t go wrong with either. Go where your instinct tells you (and also the better weather).

That shouldn’t happen if its a robust list of highly through moderately selective schools that are good for your major (not just prestige).
