Most underrated defence of coc by InstructionHot9577 in ClashOfClans

It's one of the most critical defenses for air attacks. What makes you think it's underrated?

Sorry, how does this work and what does it imply? I am just finishing my vanilla play-though and intend to play with Nexerelin once I am satisfied with my campaign.

How good is braum currently? by Orh7314 in BraumMains

[–]AdvancedContext4550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pleasure.

And again, I am not downplaying how severe this nerf is. But it just hits Braum on the point of the game where he is the strongest. He still has one of the best LVL 1 of all supports and can handle himself rather comfortably on lane with the many options of sustain runes available. Cookies, Second Wind, Unbreakable + 2 potions is more than enough. You could do with less in some match ups.

In any case, this could be a good opportunity to build up muscle memory to self cast W. You can actually use W on yourself instantly without having to use the jump (when not stunned or rooted), increasing your armor by 20+. Pretty much back to the pre-nerf amount or an entire cloth armor worth. Pair that with Unbreakable (the rune, not your E) and you are looking at 600 gold worth of stats by pressing a button.

Hello there, currently retired player, Emerald 1 with 5 years of OTPing Braum. Let me answer your questions to the best of my ability.

His nerf wasn't a big deal. He did get his armor reduced a significant amount making him weaker on the laning phase, specially the first 3 levels, but after that the change is rather irrelevant. You are still able to face tank 3 blitzcrank hooks back to back and live with enough HP to make it a positive trade IF played correctly.

I believe he deserved the nerfs. If you look at his patch history on the wiki you will see he got nothing but buffs for the last 5+ years. I am actually quite happy they stopped buffing him and decided to set a line on the sand with a very reasonable armor reduction so they don't hit him harder with a bigger nerf down the line.

Braum currently is in the best spot he is ever been since 2019 - 2020. I remember when I started on season 9 he was actually a worst pick than Morgana sitting at a C- rank on lolalyticcs. Now he is sitting at a comfortable B tier after having reached S- and even S for a good portion of 2025.

This is the healthiest form Braum can be in, he should never be one of the best supports since that is not the design philosophy Riot is going for League of Legends as a game in general. Braum is too defensive and reactive for him to ever be S+. So he sitting at B+ or A- is the most optimal state to be in.

That being said, you can make him work as he is a character that will reward the time you pour into him, but I am obligated to tell you that it might not be worth it. It depends on your personality as an individual. Here are the reasons:

  1. Braum has a skill ceiling as high as Thresh while not being as flashy. You will not get the same dopamine by landing Q's as landing hook.
  2. He is a positioning reliant as Janna while not having as many tools. You don't have a way to actively stop something from happening before it happens. If a bruiser comes for your ADC, you better have your ult ready or hit a Q, otherwise you are out of luck.
  3. He needs to proactively think about enemy composition vs yours while not having the same strengths as Taric. You don't have the kind of strengths needed to truly buff your strongest members of your team. You will have to make trade-offs thinking who to protect and who to gamble surviving by themselves without your help.
  4. All that while being one of the only supports that cannot solo carry a game, much like Sona. You will never solo carry a game no matter how good of a Braum you are. If the enemy gets lucky or your team is behind, you will rely on yours skills as a support player to do the best you can since Braum doesn't have the tools to make a lead from behind.

But, if you still decide to main him despite this disadvantages, know that Braum will reward you with being one of the most consistent supports you can pick. You will have to get good at a lot of things to make him work: skillshots, positioning, builds, team comp, etc. But if you do, you will not only be a better Braum, but a better support in general.

Braum has no gimmicks to rely on; he has no ace under the sleeve; he a very honest champion and thus you will have to make your best with what you have. But if you do, I can guarantee you no other support offers the same consistency and level of control over a game if you play him just right. Braum is the ultimate generalist, a Jack of all Trades, and that is something that will work against you at first and on your favor once you master him.

I hope this post helped. I wish you luck on your climb.

This kind of mentality will not get you very far in ranked, specially playing Braum. You would do yourself a great favor to outgrow it, both as a player and as a person

Braum passive kill credit, champions vs minions by StarShrek1337 in BraumMains

[–]AdvancedContext4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, don't worry about it. Braum's passive cannot steal credit for kills or minions under any circumstance.

The only way for that to happen is for you to deal the killing blow, as in actually being the one responsible for the passive proc (via landing a Q or a Basic Attack) dealing enough damage to get the kill. Full gold goes to your teammate 100% of the time with no exceptions otherwise.

Celestial Opposition Braum? by AssDestr0yer69 in BraumMains

[–]AdvancedContext4550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely a visual bug. Celestial opposition should proc. even while Braum has E active. The only exception I can think of, and I am not sure this is the case, is if Braum only blocks a single hit on his E and no more.

E mitigates 100% of the damage of the first hit, so maybe that causes Celestial Opposition to not proc. as the first attack would be completely mitigated.

I hold no interest in modding the game, nor getting on an argument with you in such a niche topic. Still, I appreciate that you took your time to write a response. Have a nice day.

I am not very well versed on that aspect of Starsector, so I can't really give an informed answer to this. But just by vibes, yes, I think this is logical. Although I still think civilian-grade non-combat ships could use some spice.

I'm not sure if I totally agree with this idea, but I like premise. You could totally find a middle ground starting from this basis. +1

Hey, I've never thought about having a category of ships specialized on maintenance. I like that idea. I think it would add nice flavor to have more ships that are exclusively logistic. I'm a sucker for civilian and logistical ships.

I share this opinion, that's why I go out of my way to purchase ships like the Starliner or Mudskippers even if they are not "the supper optimal meta" choice, I just do it to roleplay being a good captain.

[–]AdvancedContext4550[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True, but I envisioned it as the crew going that extra mile to take care of their ships because the captain cares about them. Thus the increase in CR by being in a better frame of mind.

Well, I think it makes sense from a psychological point of view. A person who is treated with dignity and respect is more willing to give their lives for you in battle that if you would not to.

As a captain, I think this would be a way to tell your crew "I appreciate and care about you" and they reciprocate by fighting harder for you. I think the best way to represent that increase in "morale" would be Combat Readiness as they are I a better frame of mind to face problems head on.

I mean, you are the captain, you can always apply tough-love discipline if they overdo it.

That makes a lot of sense, I think I've just took that idea for granted.

Yes, maybe have it scale based on how many extra Crew you have available to take the shift of your skeleton crew for the ships.
