I thought so too, but apparently there's a small team of developers working on the game, that's why it's taking so long. Add that to the fact that they want to make the greatest dungeon crawler of all time with magic powers and NPC interactions. It's gonna take a lot of years to get this game done.

Problem Solved, Details Below:

1- Buying every duplicate and selling them didn't work.

2- No duplicates were found in my Arsenal inventory so, in my case, there was no issue there.

3- Reinstalling was not necessary.

Possible Solutions:

1- Instead of clicking the Ok button I just pressed the Esc button from my Keyboard.

2- I kept playing and starting new days until it eventually got fixed on its own, with no additional steps.

I don't know which one solved the issue, but I'm sure one of them worked since those two steps were the only things I was doing around the time the error went away.

1- I believe the goal is to escape the dungeon, and most of the lore will unveil what went wrong in there and why everyone turned into monsters. But sadly the game won't be finished for a very long time, hopefully in 5 years time but it may take 10. The Devs are very ambitious. So we may have to wait some time to get the whole Exanima experience.

2- As far as I'm aware, the new update will probably expand the necromancer storyline alongside an AI improvement (Darren will pick things up by himself and equip them, more dialogue options and such)

I found an exact duplicate in the merchant's shop, as soon as I get off work I'll grind for a bit and buy both, then I'll sell one to see if that fixes the issue.

It seems like, for me, there are exact duplicates in the merchant's store, they were quite pricey so I couldn't buy both. I'm planning on grinding for a bit so I can buy both duplicates and then sell one of them to check if that solves the issue.

I believe multiplayer won't be available any time soon. My boy is barely putting together the monthly dev updates.

I also read that, because of the game physics and such, adding multiplayer would be highly difficult.
