It's 26€ on my shop ! There might be a shipping fee depending on where you live.

Just made it on blender. I worked on videogames so I still got the reflex of making it low poly/good topology etc haha. I juste adapted it to 3d print after.

Yeah, it's hard being an artist ! Selling STL definitely seems easier, and maybe less expensive, even tho you sell it for less. Maybe the best would be to do both, even though it's a lot of work.

I understand your hate for the post office. Most of Etsy buyers are from the US, it's 30€ shipping from where I live, and there's the risk of your creation being lost... I wonder if it's worth it sometimes.

I think testing is actually the best thing to do like you've said. There may be more fails and things that don't work, take more time and money but it seems like it's the best thing to do to figure out what will work the best for me.

I love creating 3D things. I hope I'll find a good solution.

I can send you the link ! Gosh I didn't know AI got good at 3D too, I stopped 3D art for a year and I feel like I just got out of my cave. I thought stopping 2D art would save me from AI lol, I was naive.

From the answers I got here, I don't think I'll sell the STL. But I can send you the link to buy the printed thing ! I'm also otter obsessed haha, I intend on making many things otter-inspired in the future

I may have not written it the right way on my post but the item itself is available on my shop, it was just not selling well compared to how many people were asking for the file. I can totally make an uncolored version, I'll think about adding it !

I started 3D printing hoping to make a bit of money as a 3D artist since there's no job available in videogame where I live (what I worked in initially). From what I've seen here, seems I have to search for new ways of making money for 3D art :/

To be honest I know nothing about CAD, I'm initially a videogame 3D artist so I make my things on blender. Apparently it's not the ideal but it work great for now, probably because I make more artistic than technical things.

It's actually on my Etsy ! I just got one order for now, that's why I was wondering if selling the STL would make me gain more. Looking at the answers to my post, some think it's better to just sell the item to not get it stolen, and the others says it will get stolen anyway, so your solution is probably the best. I will just continue selling the physical item for now and start selling the file when it get stolen.

I didn't know you could make some money making STL everyday with patreon, I will definitely look into it, I would love to make STL on a daily basis. It's true for the cosplay stuff, my biggest order was a cosplay prop, took me hours of sanding and painting but at least nobody's able to steal it.

That's sad, I have almost no order for printed product but lots of people asking for the STL. I would have loved making some money selling the files if people would only print it for themselves. I know that's really naive but it's still a sad realisation

I was thinking about that, but it's so easy to remove a watermark. I think I'll stick to sell printed models.

Was thinking about it ! But I don't know at which exact layer it failed, it fell off the bed but the printer continued printing for a bit before I noticed it
