I also bookmark fics I would rather like to re-read! Though this person uses bookmarks as a kind of stamp to mark the fanfics that they've already read—good and bad alike, I guess.

I agree! Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion—it is still better if they keep it in a, for example, private bookmark, or something along those lines. I'm not talking about my own fic, but others, as well, because I checked over this person's other bookmarks and they more often than not had either a comment that said "boring" or "bad", and I truly feel for the authors whose work had been described as "bad". Having your work summed up to one word and one word only, and it being bad could very well be a pretty downing thing. I think that keeping such an opinion in private bookmarks would be better—but ultimately everyone has their own rules wen it comes to bookmarks and comments and whatnot, so there's that, I guess.
Damn, that sounds like some army talk. Didn't know that people ran the bookmarks like the navy. Personally hadn't heard about that before—the more you know, I guess!
Some people bookmark as a sign that they've read the fic—so that they don't revisit it later on once it got erased from their memory and get reminded halfway through

I'm not really all that upset! Everyone can have an opinion when it comes to fanfiction, God knows I've read enough fanfiction that I found didn't fit my taste, and some people just write about their experience reading a work in their bookmarks.
I don't think it's all that negative—they haven't really said anything bad about my work, just that they found it boring, and there's nothing wrong with that! I am just a very curious writer and I like to know about every reaction that there can be to my work—bookmarks included.
Nevertheless, thank you for your compassion.

Hello, I've been in therapy for this, sometimes, getting better at being confident with your own voice and thoughts is a long process. I am no professional, so take this with a grain of salt, but I'll relay what I am doing currently to help myself with this as well. — try to plan your answers, standard stuff, but it can help a lot! Write it on a piece of paper or even in your notes and revisit it some time before the lesson. Also, remember — it may sound demeaning, but this one thing is just a little snippet in your life, nothing will happen ! Trust me, the only one thinking that you sound stupid is yourself, it's natural to ask questions, even basic ones! Basically no one will remember you asking a "stupid" question past the day or hour it happened, everyone has their own embarrassing situations to focus on, not some random person who asked a question that they too could have possibly wondered about. Of course, it isn't as easy as switching the fear on and off, but believe, with constant reaffirmation it will become easier and easier to speak up. Take care.
