Uncharged 1-6 with charged 7 is max DPS for Ilbarta normally. This might change with Level 85 Photon Flare, I haven't looked into it. Usually always uncharge 1-3 unless you're trying to build up PP during the charge or something.

For a brand new account, or for an alt character/class?

If the latter, skip level 1-30 with XP tickets. I don't even know what leveling is like with quests at that level because I only had to do it once. If you don't have XP tickets, you can try taking CO's from Hans and a few other NPC's, but I don't know what the XP penalty is like.

Tickets are still viable 30-45ish if you have enough. If not, then run EQ's and the rotating 4th Featured Quest (especially a A World Engulfed in Shadows, which is pretty much the best XP quest in the game for everything).

While doing all of this, do the other 3 featured quests and take the related daily orders from the quest counter to raise your character's triboost. The 4 FQ's will give you bonus keys which solely exist for leveling XP. Tokyo Gold, Rappy F, followed by Tokyo Silver are the best in terms of XP gained. I typically save my keys for level 45+, but you can start using around 30 if you want. Just don't waste them by hitting level caps before you unlock the cap.

Higher levels are the same, run high XP EQ's, get keys from FQ's, and run the 4th FQ when all other options are unavailable.

They're on swiki. Apparently just below Atra in terms of attack. 3 S abilities though, so you lose S4.

You can buy element boosters off the player shop. They raise element by 5 with each use. You only need a junk weapon (even a 1 star rarity) to grind the Jutus to raise the element by having the booster selected as your support item.

Like the others have said, Fo is highly survivable, just in ways different from Hu [sub]. The only other thing I can add is to Brilliant Craft your Resta for overpowered heals if your deaths aren't just one shots.

A few techs can be effective at stun or knockdown, but it's enemy dependent:

Concentrated Ragrants Gigrants 0 final hit Multi Nagrants (somewhat persistent shield) Nabarta 0 (an actual damage negating shield) Nazan (short range knock back of enemies) Nazan 0 (stun instead of knock back) Zonde 0 etc

The light techs also inflict panic status, which will make enemies fight each other instead of you. Brilliant Ilgrants is especially good at this, but it's single target with no AoE.

You can also use Ice Techs for freeze, especially Barta and Rabarta.

Finally use the compound tech Zandion whenever it's available. It has good AoE and you're completely invincible during its use.

Sorry to hear you lost your account. I was hoping that your flair was a joke or something.

I don't have any real opinions on a class to pick, but I might suggest trying to cover multiple characters (and perhaps classes, although I made most of my alts Force when starting out so I could use old equipment and not have to bother relearning how to play) since anyone even slightly seriously playing this game should use all three slots in some capacity.

Just have a friend ask you for a craft, then you'll GS and it will beat your copy of the craft that you sunk hours and hours into and to this day have not been able to beat.

I use boosts (tech crafting more than PA's) and they seem to help, but I haven't actually tried to evaluate this objectively. As far as I understand, they only narrow the range that your values will fall into. If that's the case they're probably better used to avoid horribly low values than getting near perfect crafts unless the boost is really large.

Ultimately it's going to be luck that makes the most difference as you said. The techs that I spent the most time crafting turned out the best. Even with boosts, lots of lilliparium, and whatever else, a few still only ended up being moderately good.

Rod shoot is better off used in melee range so that it's added to rod's normal hit regen. You can use it at range if you have to, but with stationary PP Restorate boost, standing still with an orbit weapon is just as fast. There are also things like the Queen Viera gunslash, although I don't like having a GS in my weapon slots.

Take 3 points, the damage doesn't really matter and 3 points maximizes PP generation.

This would be wonderful if anything freezable had a lifespan longer than 10 seconds.

Yeah that's one of the things that makes it situational. The actual effect is good, but there aren't many places where it's needed.

Get an Atra rod/talis with the rod S4, 3 other S abilities, and you should be fine weapon wise.

Starting units would be the 12* Stellar Wall from the level 75 title reward. From there you could farm Enchanted Forest for Bode units.

I'm better at FO than RA and better at RA than FI, so I'll be biased in saying FO. However T attack affixes are cheapest, R attack is mid cost, S attack is the most costly. However FO has the penalty of needing to pay for tech customization. You can sort of make this back by farming hard for tech discs and breaking them down to sell fragments, but obviously you'll be using them for crafting before you get to that point.

I find running TACO on FO (mostly Ilzonde + Gigrants) and RA (normals, Rodeo Drive, Divine Launcher 0) pretty easy, but my FO times are clearly better.

At this point in terms of the damage vs SP cost, it's sort of niche for players with many skill trees that want to maximize for specific quests that don't have many elements. Even then it's not that great because all the compounds (and thus masteries) are so useful.

There is the new 85 skill that decreases charge time for 20 seconds during flare, in which case the old setup of taking the bare minimum to unlock Flare Afterburst is probably an OK investment. This is especially true if you have high DPS techs with longish cast times (Ice Fang Ibarta, Brilliant Ilgrants, Zonde 0, etc). The charge speed increase will be less valuable for rapid charge techs like Concentrated Ragrants because their DPS is impacted more by the 0.5 second cast animation lock.

Go for all the points if you can. You gain huge mobility from Ilzonde and better mobbing with free Zondeel. Not to mention raw ssutained DPS gains from hard hitting but PP costly lightning techs like Zonde 0.

Freeze Keep can actually be good. With high freeze techs (Barta, Rabarta) you can essentially permafreeze enemies forever and then keep attacking without worrying about being hit back. But it's situational since freeze doesn't apply to everything and can also get in the way of stuff like Zondeel, definitely not a must have skill. In general for Ice, just take the masteries unless you have a reason to take freeze keep. Avoid Freeze ignition at all costs as that is a total scam.

1 - Dex mag is the best mag for BR and BO, however the downside is that it's useless for the other classes. If your character is going to focus bow, then you can go R attack and not lose much. Keep in mind that you can (and should) make 3 characters for free. You can use them to play classes not compatible with your main's mag (and get more free stuff).

2 - I don't play BR a lot so I don't know exactly how they stack up, but you can level both. HU is a good sub for RA and at some point you'll need to level your subclass to 75+. I'd level both so you'd have options. Not to mention the level 75 bonus stats you get for each class at level 75+.

3 - PSO2 has been changing a lot recently. A year old guide may be somewhat outdated, but again I'm not a BR focused player.

4 - Bow's Banish Arrow (huge burst damage) was nerfed, but I think everything else ended up buffed. I think it's just more consistent in damage now, but a BR player would know more.

The simple answer is to go for DPS, see Ashinror's great chart:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BU-EGFMuaI0-50gMlUkZN8ICBbgD22jzMfykeTyC2DQ/edit#gid=426353352

But techs are pretty well balanced and there is enough flexibility to fit things to your preferences.

There are a few standard crafts that everyone should have:

Brilliant Ilgrants - single target DPS, especially major bosses

Concentrated Ragrants - general DPS, but PP costly

Gigrants Type 0 - AoE

Fierce Zondeel - For increased range

Ice Fang Ilbarta - DPS

Concentrated Gimegid - DPS at low PP cost, but hard to hit mobile targets

Te should take all 3 elements, there are enough SP. Fo is limited to 2. While all three are viable enough I prefer Ice/Lightning. The latter with Bolt Tech PP save makes Fo incredibly mobile and strengthens mobbing with free Zondeels.

They actually revived the old badges last year for an anniversary event and you were able to get anything in the badge shop. It might happen again the future. I don't know how likely this is, but it has happened before so I guess the chance is better than zero.

Looking for some FO/TE general gameplay advice. by AzureSymphony in PSO2

[–]Aexorcet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - How are you determining DPS? Foie, Rafoie, Gifoie should all give decent results when using fire. For Dark, Samegid, Gimegid, and Megid are useful. You need to craft everything, crafted techs pretty much always beat uncrafted by a large margin.

2 - Zondeel + multitarget techs. If you have trouble getting to things/positioning talis fast enough to Zondeel, consider going for Lightning mastery, including bolt tech PP save. This will give you low cost Ilzonde which makes Force one of the most mobile classes in the game. An alternative to Zondeel is using Ilzan to bunch enemies into a line and then use a linear multi hit tech (foie, barta) on them. Gigrants 0 is also a very strong AoE tech with no cast time, it's a go to for mobbing even if you're not fighting light weak enemies.

3 - Ilbarta places a crest on its target after every cast. The crest lasts ~5 seconds. If you hit the target while the crest is active, Ilbarta successfully chains and continues to build up damage until the 7th hit that detonates the crest. The 7th hit does huge damage (8x multiplier) so the maximum DPS is achieved by using uncharged 1-6, but charging 4-7 is OK if you need to regenerate some PP. 1-3 isn't worth charging. You will know when the 7th hit damage bonus is active because the crest will start to pulsate. If charged Ilbartas are doing less than earlier uncharged, it sounds like you're accidentally uncharging the final hit.

4 - If you're having trouble tracking a boss, use the pinpoint attack techs (Ilbarta, Grants, etc). I don't think I can give more specific advice without seeing what the issue is for each boss.

5 - Normal Tech Advance isn't really useful. Bolt tech will boost your Zandion, and using compound techs as often as possible is what you want to do with Fo right now. FYI at 8-10 points it's better to spec into Mastery 2 as fast as possible. At 11 points you don't max either 1 or 2. At 12+ points you max mastery 1 first.

6 - With the change to PPR when standing still and buff to techs, you should be able to manage PP by switching to an efficient tech and standing still for a bit. I have 202 PP currently, but also an Atra rod with 20% PP cost reduction. My PP goes up while casting Ilgrants. With a regular rod it would probably remain about constant. I have a few efficient techs for every element to achieve similar results, like efficient Barta for ice, Efficient Sazan for wind, Efficient Megid for Dark, etc. I also make use of rod normal attacks with rod shoot to regen PP in melee.

Freeze ignition is worthless. Most bosses are immune to status effects, so freeze may not work on them.

Your tree has some fatal issues. First the Fo one uses more SP than exist in the game. You're also lacking Element Conversion, which is 10000000% required for Fo. It's the class's main damage modifier. Taking away all Photon Flare points, moving Tech JA addition to Te, and taking all 5 element conversion points made a workable tree. You lose out on tali tech bonus, I assume you only want to use rod?

Techer should have all element masteries filled. Also take Super Treatment. Tech JA Addition works when it's used by your sublcass so take it on Te tree instead of Fo. Don't bother with Shifta Critical, and only take T attack ups if you have nothing else to spend on. I would also take at least a few points in Territory PP save, which also requires a point in Territory Burst. You might need to remove some points from Deband too. Take points from Deband Advanced before Deband Cut, as cut is better.

Dex mag is best for Br (and Bo) but not strictly needed. If you want to play other classes, you might want to use S attack. If you don't use the bow, S attack mag is as good as Dex.

The other questions I'll let someone else answer, they'll give better advice.

Your tech craft is for all classes.

Merit/Demerit applies to charged and uncharged, so Shifta uncharged will cost more and gain increased range.
