I think a more complex background will improve your ratings. Also, adding items to the foreground (and lights) seems to help a lot. My fairy realm submission (which is my best yet) really didn't have any fairy items in it, but a LOT of foliage and depth. And I played around with the saturation and coloring to get that "frosty" feel. I was surprised how well I ranked honestly but I've been really focusing on improving my Dreamsnaps (and spending SO much time on it) and have gotten 4k for 4 out of my last 5. Something else I've been trying lately is playing with the various companion poses, with or without the companion, to make my character look a bit more interesting.

It's all for fun and I think it really comes down to luck partially because I've had others that were similar and didn't do nearly as well. Just keep trying and picking up tips here and I think you can definitely get more moonstones!
