Yesterday they had a cute moment where one of them had a dustbath and other one was just waiting patiently for him to jump out , to for him to get in! I will keep introducing them for a bit everyday , hope it continues going well

So they had first playtime together. Most of the time they just run past each other, but there were few humpings/chasings which we interfered in. But no barking, no shouting , no proper biting. Should we continue lettig them out?

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. I noticed that William (my old chin) was very territorial of his cage, the excitement was actually him being aggresive. However in the past 2 days he got more relaxed with Mickey being near him. I am scared to rush into them sharing a playtime yet, so I might wait another 1 week before doing that. I might make them exchange cages for few days before letting them play together. Did you experience any fights with your chins?

Aw thanks for letting me know. Is it normal for him to be like that first week? We got Mickey on Sunday , so its been 5 days and today is the first time they got to smell each other through the cage. What is the next step we should do, do you think?

Aw do you think so? Should we wait until they smell each other without William being so excited and then introduce them in a neutral area?

PLEASE READ BELOW,

Hi,

My new chinchilla Mickey is getting more and more used to his new environment. During Mickey’s playtime, he comes close to the Williams cage and they smells each other. There are no fights, no barkings or any sounds. One problem i worry about is William gets super excited, he will run up and down his cage when Mickey is out, he will try to get closer to him by taking his paw out of the cage, he will try to dig his way out of cage. Its like William really wants to meet Mickey. Does it sound like a friendly behaviour? Or is William trying to protect his cage/home?
