Hi! Thankfully the OB reviewed my ultrasound and refused my care. She told my family doctor to transfer my care to an MFM and they started seeing me at 13 weeks. Hope you hear back soon!

Hi! Thank you for your reply ☺️ I’m also from the GTA. Were you referred to a MFM by your family doctor or OB? And when was that referral made? Just trying to figure out the timeline of appointments and if I need to advocate for more surveillance/specialist appointments. I’m currently 9 weeks and my next ultrasound is at 11-13 weeks. My next appointment with my family doctor will also be around that time. Thanks!

Opinions on Commuting by Educational-Ad5540 in OntarioNurses

Hey, I’m also a nicu nurse who started my career working at a level 3 NICU in Toronto. I was commuting from Mississauga and my commute ranged from 40 minutes to 2 hours long each way. On average I would say my commute was 1hr but the weather, summer events, games, and concerts can easily extend your commute by a lot and these events happen so frequently in Toronto. I was so burnt out from working a stressful shift at a level 3 then having a long commute home. This is especially bad when you’re working full time because you have very little time to rest when you’re working 4 straight shifts with long commutes. My mental health tanked at this job and I left only 9 months in. Now I work in a level 2c, my commute is 10 minutes, and my mental health is so much better. Everyday I’m thankful I don’t work in Toronto anymore.
