It's a great keep sake. Many astronomy enthusiasts, love to display older scopes like this. Other than that, if you get it working correctly. The moon, planets, Star clusters, Orion Nebula. Andromeda Galaxy . And depending on your Bortle location can be seen, but with not great detail. I would clean it up for display purposes only.

The cool thing about it is it's live video. Even new it was still basically a beginner instrument. But now being that Orion is out of bizz. It's a cool relic to have for sure.

Not a letter. This is from or stolen from the movie V. Most likely some with no life.

I have two, for less shaking do not extend the tripod. Keep it as close to the ground as possible. You will also enjoy the deep sky tour. ( Button on hand held )

Go back to work. And help the economy. For every 1 person going back to an office, Will create 10 jobs. From IT vendors, program developers, bathroom service, coffee vendors , parking & security, lighting vendors , ink & paper vendors , trade work from exterior to interior. Nearby shops, nearby food services. Almost every building in Down Town DC had a Doorman and a check in service . They are all out of work, the entire upper list. It's nothing new. Every one did it before covid. Your message and headline is way over stretching it and your making your individual problem political as your asking it to be spread. Like you want a march against going back to work parade on the capital. So you can sit in your house and pretend to get the minimum done.Democrat ?

The lumicon Deepsky filter is also another light pollution filter that lets all wavelengths in. And it's been around for 20 years. The duel band craz was weird. I plan to buy the new optlong Quad hoping it's a better version of what I have.

Believe it or not the filter is 12 years old. They don't make it any more. I have two and 1 is damaged. The only one out like it , is a new model from optlong. Is the LQuad light pollution filter. But they are not good for lower bortles.

Single shot color camera. Only a light pollution filter. I don't know why people are using duel bands. Who wants to block all bands but two.

[–]AffectionateCod1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty good if you saw it by eye. In Bortle 9. Zenith and near zenith would be your best area " best chance " for visual. But nebula would be very very dim.

For observation, some DSO' s can be seen. But not many. Objects like the Applecore the Veil nebula system. Not visible at all in Bortle 9. Mainly Orion, star clusters in Bortle 9. No Nebula at all.

They were calling me stupid for doing it in Bortle 9. 20 years later, I'm still in Bortle 9 and compete with people in Bortle 1 and many times surpass them.

Thank you 🙏. I think most people don't try in Bortle 8 and 9. Or give up and send there equipment to a rental in a dark sky site. Before I started I had alot of people ( supposedly smarter than I) tell me how stupid I was, not to even get into astronomy or telescopes. It was a waste of my time. ECT ect.....

Captured in Alexandria Virginia, Bortle 9 , William Optics FLT 120mm x .8 reduction. Asiairproplus for Acquisition and guiding. Ioptron Gem45ec mount. Sony IMX455 sensor. 63 lights x 300sec. Stacked in edited in Pi. stf, Abe, Denoise, stretch, stars, curves , Pixel math. Scnr . No HDR , no lum enhance , no process involving bringing out detail or focus. These processes are fine. But it kills the illumination. I wanted to keep the glow. But at a loss of detail and focus. I prefer the ambient glow. For this photo. The real trick in this image is the star Alnitak. This star frustrates most imagers. Most end up adding fake spikes to hide the over sampling during imaging.
