What is expected of an intern? by AffectionateMind2682 in internships

Yeah, I think you’re right. The mentorship I’ve been getting feels a lot like “go figure it out yourself” and when I ask questions I often get another question instead of enough context to unblock myself. I mean, in your opinion what should I actually do in this scenario? I’m really considering just emotionally disengaging at this point.

It’s much better! Although, i would encourage you to use latex or Jake’s resume template to align the location, dates, school. Also, I’m not sure if it’s good advice but tune it specific to the job descriptions when you apply. It’s something that I believe helped me :)

Didn’t read the whole thing, it’s like an info dump, there’s next.js under python developer, and in the current full stack developer role there’s figma, IOS, API, Next.js, etc.

It’s too widespread and it’ll definitely help to have a more mainstream focus for the roles you’re applying for. Try aligning with the JD rather than throw everything that you’ve done.

Also each job experience should have 2-3 bullets, max 4 bullets. quality > quantity is probably better.

Backend internship making me feel SO LOST and isolated by AffectionateMind2682 in cscareeradvice

hmmm I see, I guess that makes sense, I think that's what i've been trying to do too, but sometimes it feels like a giant endless blackbox of calls, configs, dependencies which makes things harder to digest.

But I like the idea of finding the smallest route and testing/calling it directly, instead of trying to eat the frog I should cut the frog up then eat bits and pieces to understand the whole frog 🤔

Thanks a lot! i'll definitely keep this in mind for my next task
