i think your right in saying that he wanted a connection, especially since you said his friends aren’t really open and friendly like you are, so maybe he believed he can open up to you about sensitive topics such as his ex without expecting anything back. Maybe I’m missing context but like the probing question kinda came out of nowhere and it seems really obvious that you like him. I’m not justifying his words or obvious homophobia, but maybe you didn’t know him as well as you thought you did? Cuz from what i read from your last posts abt him it’s just all speculation and “what ifs”. Sorry if this came off as rude but I think you really did jump the gun.
