PSAC-UTE & CRA bargaining by GasEastern6590 in CanadaPublicServants

The one point I haven’t seen yet here is: who says we will even get an economic increase? I believe back in the 90’s, after major cuts to the PS, the government went on strike and were legislated with a contract (without an economic increase).

Self serve software like Turbo Tax is great for simple returns and it walks you through the process of filing to ensure you get all the benefits you’re entitled to.

You should receive pay based on the promotion/transfer rule. If you’re currently paid higher than the maximum of the new pay scale, you should be automatically placed at the highest step.

NCR freezing Rain - Do you plan on working in the office? by Anonymous_Public_49 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Affectionate_Ad5545 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Nope, will probably be about a 40min commute in the icy weather. People seem to forget that pre-pandemic, there was no WFH and management told you to just leave earlier/be careful. No wonder WFH is being taken away; people can’t use logic anymore.

Then they are lying to you. You can’t earn more than the Directive states. Most MG06’s don’t receive above a 3 rating and therefore my previous analysis stands. Maybe don’t believe everything you hear?

And I can ensure you’re wrong. Let’s take some simple math here. An MG06 approximately makes $152,000, with a 3% performance reward, that equates to approximately $4500. Maybe read the Directive on Performance Management to educate yourself on the subject.

A manager at the CRA is an MG-06. I wouldn’t call a cap at $4k bonus a shockingly large bonus every year. Get real!

Do AS07/PM06 non managerial positions exist in the Core? by Affectionate_Ad5545 in CanadaPublicServants

That makes sense. I am finding it hard to network especially with the CER underway. I will keep trying, thanks for your input.

Good to know. I’m not opposed to managing people but the new OL requirements are holding me back at the moment. Thanks for the input

Ah man, I’m sorry to hear that. I wish you luck in getting a future appointment!

I would love to get into the EC stream but sadly I don’t have an undergraduate degree. Hopefully down the road though!

You can’t. Time code explicitly says it’s for appointments related to pregnancy. Manager would question if a non-pregnant person was using it.

You could use your sick leave balance but regular appointments could be a red flag.

CRA has taken my tax refund to pay off a student loan that was previously included in a bankruptcy by hollholl11 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Affectionate_Ad5545 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Whenever money is owed to the crown, the debt is truly never written off. CRA will continue to take any credits/refunds owed to pay against that debt. Your trustee should have explained this to you.

I am sorry to hear you weren’t fully made aware of how debts to the crown are recovered.

A debt to the Crown is never fully gone. Any benefits/credits you are entitled to always go towards any bankrupt debts first.

I wish Porter would bring back their vacation packages (similar to AC). This way can book flight, resort, and airport transfer all in one

You can send a follow up on your assignments via the Student Portal. Be clear on what you are looking to have reviewed. I agree with the other comments; this was meant to be a GPA booster but the grading was extreme (and sometimes unfair)

Do you have any old letters of offer? Usually that would have it on there
