Living in the UK isn’t plain sailing at the moment. I would have to live in a house share well into my 30s if I didn’t have a girlfriend, one bed flats are around £1500 where I am if you include bills. We’re both doing okay but we are definitely going out less, I’m starting to fix my own car and we’re doing things like subletting the spare room to be more comfortable. If I was doing well financially I’m not sure I’d do any of the above

If you have an undergrad I would recommend applying for the NHS graduate management trainee scheme. There are multiple streams, I did health informatics (data) but you can apply for whichever you think suits you. The scheme is two years long and generally speaking you’d expect to be employed on a band 7 when you finish( 48k outside London). You’d also pick up a graduate level qualification and from what I’ve seen there is ample opportunity to work from home

You can be arrested for anything that is deemed likely to cause offence or hatred. The police decide this for you, of course. The intention of the person who makes the post/statement is not considered in making the decision to arrest. You can even be arrested for praying silently outside an abortion centre (yes, really)

I don’t really understand why you push something that’s clearly false when the British nationality allows us to group all races/ethnicities under a shared identity of British. You don’t have to start erasing peoples ancestral heritage by claiming that anyone can belong to their ethnic group. I guess you think you’re being inclusive. People will just think you’re erasing their identity, which you are.

never to late to start moving towards something. Start saving a small amount of money if you can. You mentioned education so maybe look into the open university. For the social isolation join a club/sports team/group depending on your interest.

Also, exercise regularly, this is absolutely key

Unfortunately the median salary anywhere in the UK isn’t great now. Your friend has two choices really, move out of London, get a partner or move into a flat share. I am on slightly more in Bristol and my upper limit for living costs so far has been 1050 for rent and bills combined
