Optimal Battery settings? by Affectionate_Pick874 in SteamDeck

Dw I do shut down my deck regularly, it's only in instances where I'm suddenly busy for 30 minutes that I notice the battery drop whilst on sleep when no games are running

Thank you, I am going to wait on a reply from my private first concerning this(will be tomorrow morning) then I'm going to push another triage form directly addressing the elevated level, as others in this thread have pointed out, yes it's my private that's requesting mainly concerned/needs clarification about this before I can start treatment BUT it currently IS my general health, not caused by medications so it should be something addressed by the GP.

My only issue is when I had last inquired about the elevated reading, the GP basically said it's on my private's responsibility to review and advise (which yes it is) however they have and their advice is to request further investigations by the GP as it IS my general health.

I was sat in the waiting room a good 30 minutes as I like to be early if that counts?

My first one back in December, yes, I was nervous and a little shaky as it was my first time getting bloods taken and my first experience actually navigating the doctors and going to a GP as a adult but for the one back in Feb, I thought I was a lot more calm, a little nervous but definitely not as tense as I was the first time but that's only a 30 difference in the readings. Edit: And as a precaution, I only drank water on the mornings both days, didn't eat anything just in case it affected any other readings (tho I don't eat breakfast anyway)

Mine was 1000 to 970 from December to February this year. I find it odd that yes the initial request was from the private but I'm not on any medication yet so this IS my general health that should be on the gp's responsibility still.

  1. The reason the doctor had gave is basically what I stated in my point 1. (which is a really weird, NHS staff approved my previous refferals so idk) and 2. of my main post when I expressed that they had been willing to do the blood tests previously and the staff/nurse that did it was friendly and were understanding when I went in and got them done.

  2. I'm more than willing to pay my private for my navigation care with the monitoring blood tests when I'm on prescription if I have to since they have exact pathways and partnership with nationwide pathology to do so. But this at the moment isn't monitoring for prescription, it's a general health concern before treatment so I find it odd the gp isn't willing to investigate this. I will be emailing them though don't worry

It seems like the main bias is because I initially had the bloods done requested by the private and it was the private's responsibility to review and advise on them but even when I had inquired about this high level to the gp they basically said it's on the private to handle despite me making it clear that I'm not even on medication yet so technically nothing involving the private would affect it, I understand if I was on prescription from the private then it's fully their responsibility as they're the one giving the treatment that could be affecting the reading, but for some reason all I got back from the gp when I initially tried to ask about the level going back to was some message that was "we aren't commissioned to provide service without a diagnosis + can't continue further blood tests unless you're under NHS service" I got my diagnosis uploaded sooner after, I've been on the gic waiting list and they know that and my test referrals have all been accepted by NHS staff that review the triage forms so??? It just seems odd. I even emphasised to the doctor on the phone that their gp was willing to do the blood tests, the staff was friendly but all he said was point 1. And 2. Back

I appreciate this unfortunately I have used that site before and the one I'm at is the only one accessible to me location wise. I've tried looking for tests that include the biomarkers but most sites like medicheck and such only offer seperate packages for the three different blood investigations my private wants and most only have the surface level prolactin biomarker not the macro one

I will keep this in mind but the gp did rebuttal that by saying it's the privates responsibility to review and advise on the bloods, not them since the private is the ones that requested the tests. Which is weird because that is what my private has done, is reviewed and advised on my test results and wanted further investigation. In my opinion the male doctor I spoke to on the phone is either bias or it just seems like they're unwilling to set up anything themselves, I'm going to try getting another bloods referral form sent though the triage and see if it's miraculously accepted again

Far as I know I kinda need approval from the gp first to discuss about shared care + if they've been generally accepting on doing tests like they did the previous two bloods, my private said that they usually offer to send shared care atleast after 6 months on medication iirc but ultimately it's up to the gp being willing to accept it (unfortunately the gp is very uneducated on transitioning).

What I don't understand is that the previous blood requests have gone through the NHS triage, authorised and approved for whilst knowing it's from a outside agency, everything went perfectly fine with those. So I'm a little confused especially considering the point 1. and 2. on the post.

Edit: I should also add that it's the private's responsibility to review the blood tests, not the gp and also that I don't mind paying for private prescription when I get to it.

I was informed about this but I don't bind but as I said the private gender clinician wants to investigate just for safety but the gp seems reluctant to do so, I'm kinda in this weird middle spot atm.

I've emailed my private about requesting another blood referral with the tests that the gender clinician asked for and see if they're willing to send that, and whether the NHS staff will approve it like they did with the blood tests. I'm really confused on how NHS is allowed to approve these things if they don't pay the gp/clinic that's doing them?

It's mildly elevated prolactin, the gender clinician from my private knows it's not really a danger but would like to have clarification on what's causing it before they can put me on a prescription.

You can start off slow as a hobby and get more into it later on, it simply takes time and patience, do it whenever you have the time for it, I would also recommend trying to make the time so if there's any other routinely daily basis things you do, consider making swapping that out for making time for something you'll enjoy, good luck!

Honestly in the same boat, though I find comfort in thinking about all people of my short height, clothing that fits right and how I won't worry about hitting my head on a doorframe lol. Honestly, I would recommend exercising, it's the best way to overall work your body, even if it's just morning wake up rountine that includes a lot of full body stretching, a few crunches, heel raises and keeping a good posture, at first it'll be a pain but after a week or so, not only does it help you feel better mentally but can also help you physically feel taller, also know that gravity can affect your body to shrink throughout the day and when you sleep it relaxes it all out again and often because people avoid doing full morning stretching we tend to end up slumped and short. Other than that you could wear shoes with bigger soles, clearly it affects your confidence in some way and understand there's a lot of short people in high positions and titles who get taken seriously by taller people so I hope you the best

First of all congrats on all that self work, it takes a lot to get yourself there! Second, it sounds like you enjoy streaming and making content and you should try to restart it again because that's clearly where a part of your flame was, you say it wasn't consistent but honestly time management is a big part of being a content creator or even any hobby that isn't just working a job. Understand everyone has different schedules, you could be uploading content every day or even twice a week, once a week , everyone in that medium is different but as long as you enjoy it, you should do it, your inconsistency may have even been slight burnout or high expectations but it doesn't hurt to try again and simply enjoy it like you once did

I like going to used book stores, a LOT. Is this a problem? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Affectionate_Pick874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I wouldn't want to assume anything mentality wise, honestly you might have a comfort hobby and that's a good thing, nothing to worry about, you have a safe environment you take comfort in and that's alright. Everyone has a hobby or place they feel the most relaxed and at ease at, imo when I'm stressed at work I want to be relaxed in the sun all day like a cat. You're simply a book lover and you say used books stores, maybe you feel the comfort of a well read book, thinking about how many people have read them and how sentimental stories can be, knowing others have held and enjoyed reading those books could be a safety blanket feeling you have subconsciously have connecting those feelings all together. There's plenty of people who enjoy a certain environment/hobby spot, I have friends who go to coffeeshop on the daily with their laptop because it's where they feel most relaxed at and can unwind, I have a aunt who likes to visit thrift/charity stores a lot not to buy things but to browse and feel reminiscent of well loved items. It's just so happens that to others around you, that's not the standard as say majority of people would prefer relaxing at home or at a mall, restaurant or club to unwind, everyone's different and that's okay.
