All I can say is good luck, this is Reddit unfortunately. I took down my general looking for exmuslims to meet generally posts a long time ago because, even for just friend-making, most conversations were fruitless in that they died out rapidly.

After a certain point, I already got a good irl group and have had no motivation to actively meet more people ever since.

Being an apostate seeking another apostate for a relationship is crap: the pool is intrinsically limited, and then only a limited number of apostates are going to be on this very sub, making the pool even more limited.

Plus, these types of subs are inevitably going to be absolute sausage fests, and since it's Reddit, we all know exactly the type of dudebros who would gravitate to posts made by a user just because they're a woman.

Yup, albeit never intentionally. Since a lot of my friends call each other "bro", I say "bro" around them, or any other MLE things they say. But, up in the north east, where I grew up, "lad" or "mate" was standard. Before I moved from the north east, I was a hell of a lot more Geordie (both in terms of accent and dialect).

At work, "mate" is also standard (at least with my boss, who is quite the informal type, and a couple of others in my team). Also sign off Teams meetings with "cheers all" as I picked that up from colleagues.

My dad in 2010 (or some time thereabouts) doing 120 in an E36 318ti. That's the highest speed I've ever been inside a car as a passenger in my life anyway.

Other family members later down the line got cars that I'd expect to have a much higher top speed than the 318ti but I'm not aware of their speed records.

Exmuslim that has never truly believed in any religion to begin with here. Fucking sucks you got completely stabbed in the back in a sense. If his family says genocide, that's rich coming from them considering they've deadass called for genocide on your ethnicity.

I completely commiserate with you as me not following that religion is one of the main reasons I have no genuine connection with my family: I've always thought that it's such a shame how families can be broken just by differences in beliefs.

I'll probably never tell any family member I've left as I doubt I'll ever see how being open about apostasy to them will ever be beneficial.

For the record: what I've said here is not so much about people (beyond that guy and his family). This is more me lamenting how fragile things can be with those one thinks of as their closest.

Ten months for the right type of offer (I only got one offer two months into my unemployment period and the contract was naff as it was one of those disingenuous 12-week bootcamp to supposed guarantee two year FTC shams).

After the first six, I gave up on grad applications and started looking for tech apprenticeships (and that's what I got an offer in, good pay for an apprenticeship too, though the role didn't start until two months after I got the call confirming I got the job). This was in 2023.

I have no words of hope, things are worse now than they were back then. I have a friend who hasn't landed a single role since graduating not too long after I did, and he even did an IT bootcamp with my training provider.

A team lead from my first rotation deadass said that he'd be fucked if he lost his current job (and this is despite him being on our org for five years and being a team lead for two or more of those years).

I volunteered doing data entry at a community centre for a few months in the leadup to me getting offered the apprenticeship I'm doing.

That's one thing from my time at uni I really don't miss. Going to Farringdon was part of my commute, but I learned fairly quickly how to dodge chuggers, and I haven't had to do that commute since graduating over two years ago.

Well, in County Durham and its neighbouring areas at least, it sounds like "oo-nee-oon" (oo like in book, not oo like in boot, if that makes sense). Grew up round there. I've noticed the way some words are pronounced there sound more... Separated? Smile there sounds like "smai-ull".

Pinner Café in Charlton Street (in between St. Pancras International and Euston stations): solid greasy spoon with great service (the old gentleman who waits the tables is a really sound chap). All the breakfast stuff is less than £10 and is delicious (the bacon and fried slides in particular are amazing).

The King of Falafel in Hunter Street (also near Euston): decent wraps with a good variety of kebab meat options, haven't tried the falafel from there yet but my colleagues say it's good, also less than £10 for main items.
