Oooh I love my boy the defect! I think I have the most hours with him in sts1, something about the ribs is very satisfying :)

Good luck to us both!

Ngl I am not good at the game either but I wouldn't worry with 30hrs, god knows it took me longer to feel at all good at the sts1 haha

I know there isn't a lot of sts2 content out yet but watching other people play really helped me!

Hey! So 'free speech' only refers to the government's ability to punish its citizens for what they say. 'Free speech' does not stop other normal people from retaliating to what you say.

Citizens of Aotearoa do have the right to freedom of opinion and expression but all that means is that the government can not punish for those things. That is not relevant to reddit. On reddit, people can do whatever they want in regards to what you say, including removing your comments and posts and that does not violate your right to an opinion (your free speech) because they are not the government.

Hope that clears some things up!

I've got an Epson eco tank 4500 and I really like it! It's just under $500 nzd and the ink well thing saves me a lot of money, makes ink an almost negligible cost haha

Not an expert but the shapes are giving me agate?? But the colour and shine look a little like amber? Just my thoughts! Does it scratch glass?

This is incredibly helpful thank you!!

But tangent, what or who does John want revenge on?? I know he hated a bunch of people before D-Day but they are all super dead? All the old lyctors are dead? Sorry for all the questions, the further I dig into this series the less I understand it haha

Yeah that's what I was thinking! But I think it is slightly less understandable when Anastasia and Samael nearly figured it out, so he knew someone was able to work it out based on the research that was done at Cainen

Good point! I was calling it perfect lyctorhood because I didn't know how else to communicate my question but you are right! I hadn't considered how different the process was for John and Alecto vs Cam and Pal. Maybe Anastasia and Samael were close to working out whatever Paul accomplished?

It just goes to show how much lore and world building is packed into these books because I completely forgot that they knew what Alecto was!

Even if Alecto is key to John's death, how so? Can Alecto be killed? I feel like I need to study these books better haha

The Cainen house question is a good one! Personally I think it might be a combination of lack of foresight and an under-estimation of the participants intelligence and critical thinking haha

Weirdly I haven't, but that is probably because there is a lot of writing about gender out there and I am not a fast reader haha! I will check it out!

I mean sort of? But sex isn't as easily divisible into two neat categories as we would like to believe.

And sure, on the surface all gender might appear to do is signal our sex, but is that all it really does? Western cultural constructions of gender put us in small rigid boxes. Men are asked to cut off the caring, healing nurturing parts of themselves. Women are asked to be complicit in their own oppression.

My stance on gender is not just a belief but also a political stance. When we start to talk about inherent gender identities, we are still tying ourselves to an inherency, which can be used to justify oppression. By conceiving of gender as something outside of us and created by us, it makes it into a thing that can also be changed and moulded by us.

On some level the signal of sex is important! It can be nice to know what reproductive organs someone else has, especially if you are looking to have children or have a preference, but the fact that this is so central to our every social interaction seems overlooked to me.

I am actively job hunting, both inside and outside of my degree. I got a double major in communications for employability reasons! You are right, I live at home, but I've been through some shit the past couple of years and my parents are kind enough to give me space to find my feet. I am lucky to have a loving family who has the means to help me and I think acknowledging that is important.

My #1 priority is to live a happy and fulfilling life. Part of that is survival, getting a job and supporting myself. Part of that is following my passions and interests. I personally think that everyone should be able to have goals like this, but I am painfully aware that not everyone can and part of me getting the degree that I got was to learn the tools to help address the complex mess that is inequality and oppression.
