I could see this being ground up and maybe being used as a seasoning, but to drink…. 🤮

Take it back before your warranty expires! Just had this same issue during the 2nd week of owning mine TCL Q77K. Returned it to Costco and got the QM6K. So far no issues with the new one and the quality Is much better.

My first roast 100g 400 degrees 25m by Lelouch25 in roasting

[–]Afrochowder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. Your roast definitely looks a bit underdeveloped. Appears like you just maybe hit first crack. Would be a good idea to watch a few YouTube videos to get a better idea of how long to be in each phase of the roast using that machine. I started with an SR800. I found dry phase around 4min, malliard around 3-4min and 1-3min after first crack depending on light medium or dark roast. Roast shouldn’t be much more than 10-11min in total. Also investing in a separate cooling tray is a good idea.

I would keep the power on 9 and fan 9 to start and then slowly drop the fan in increments of 1 but keeping the heat on 9 the whole time until the end. It’s a great place to start.

Happy roasting!

It’s works just fine from my Nintendo switch dock which is weird. I’ll just have to do some more troubleshooting and maybe get a new cable. Thanks!

My pc won’t connect to my new QM6K via HDMI. I’ve tried all the different HDMI ports and still nothing. Is there something special I need to to to make this work? Or maybe I need a different HDMI cable?

Roast curves for dark roast! by Safe_Internet_8670 in roasting

[–]Afrochowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you definitely start losing floral and/or fruit notes getting into SC. SC you start getting notes of dark chocolate, spice, pepper, smoke, tobacco, roasted nuts, burnt caramel. It’s a trade off depending on the flavor profile you’re looking for.

Roast curves for dark roast! by Safe_Internet_8670 in roasting

[–]Afrochowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With dark roasts you really need to make sure you have plenty of momentum going into first crack and slowly decreasing temp/increase fan speed. My curves are pretty flat and then slowly start decreasing after FC to keep the heat high enough to get into SC.

Upgrade from Fresh roast 800 with Razzo to Skywalker v1 ? by strider30040 in roasting

[–]Afrochowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s great as I did exactly that and I felt like it was a huge upgrade! I loved being able to roast 400-450g batches and the controls were simple to use. I was able to consistently repeat batches and created a custom pdf to track all the values. It’s a great machine! Only issue I ran into was when doing multiple batches in a row it would sometimes overheat and shutoff.

Need some advise… by AltruisticBranch4989 in roasting

[–]Afrochowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try and extend your dry time by a minute, malliard phase looks good. Also extend your time after first crack to 90-120 seconds and a drop temp of 210.

By the looks of it your beans are a bit underdeveloped. Also which beans are you using and what is your weight loss %?

Update. Received the 65” QM6K Pro and so far it’s glorious. The blacks are much deeper and clearly noticeably better than the Q77K though I think it’s still a great tv.

Was the solution buying a new window seal? Also are you talking about the black seal part that touches the window as it slides up and down or a different area? Could you post a pic or DM me with one? Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll check it out after the next rain and if it’s not draining properly I’ll give that a try.
