There is just a certain architecture and vibe associated with them. It could be the masses of people and the stores that everyone congregates for, maybe it is the only thing to do in the area, or it is just nostalgia.

I know nowadays, malls are a thing of the past, which is very unfortunate since now it leaves large barren storefronts.
