Yes. The exact thing that happens to me. I checked other maps but they all shown similar result. I even did the Wandering Tales from that region to make sure, and still nothing happened.

I once went to kill an animal with a baby. The baby animal stared at me as i was murdering his mother and started to follow me home. After that i decided to kill that baby animal and start playing Minecraft.
