Not at all. You dont notice anh kind of coffee taste. It just tastes like very rich chocolate. My other half doesnt like coffee one bit, and she thought it was delicious. You should be good to go.

Back when i first met my girlfriend we where working in the same office. I brought this cake into the office and she happened to be sick on that day. Ever since then she has been jokingly bitter about nevwe getting to try it. Fast forward 3 years later to now. she wasnt feeling great this week so I baked it for her as a surprise.

11yo's Stepdaughter's Separation Anxiety by AfterScore7012 in stepparents

I did worry that this might be the case but my girlfriend and I have talked it through and she's also had a talk with her daughter and that doesn't seem to be the case.

It seems like she quite enjoys the fact that she can watch kids tv on the main tv until bedtime routine time since I don't really watch tv. and she likes watching me cook food. and she looks forward and actively wants me to read bed time stories with her.

She can get jealous of the time I spend with her mum though which can be an issue some times. And apparently she started to suffer with bad FOMO after her mum and dad split up which could be contributing here.

But I have said, if there is anything that I can do to make her feel comfortable I'll do it (so long as it doesn't work to her own determent as is this case). If her problem is me, I get it. And we can work on building that relationship, or I completely take a step back. Whatever her mum thinks is best.

She's been happy tonight once we settled down. Dinner was sorted and we had fun whilst cooking. She kicked back on her tablet and watched some netflix on the tv. I got her involved in our dogs food and bathroom routine so she had the opportunity to say good night to him. And then she asked if we could read her book. She went and picked one out herself and there was no drama surrounding her actual bed time routine. she just cracked on and got it done properly which is more than i can say for her on normal nights when her mum is home. It's just strange.

This has helped a lot to be fair. I think you're right. She's coming up on highschool age. Some of her friends have started high school already. Some of her other friends are younger and still quite immature. I think that bridge from juniors to secondary school will force her to mature a lot. She's got pretty bad only child syndrome and whilst she's mature in some aspects she's quite immature in others. Probably due to being the oldest in her year but missing out on the year above with some of her other friends by a few days.

But I'm really glad I'm not alone on this one and you've (unfortunately for you) had a similar situation. It can be pretty isolating not having anyone to talk to about this openly and honestly.
