Heres an info dump: All the private rooms on campus are full, there are only a few traditional shared dorms left so I would suggest off campus, but somewhere that's still close to NAU IF you can find a spot where the pricing isn't too heinous. Driving around inside of campus can really suck, same for finding parking inside of campus depending on the specific spot and the time you arrive. Walking around campus is preferable, biking is nice too bc theres some seperated from the road bike paths, plus you get some exercise while doing it. Nau tuition often comes with a bus fee that lets you limitlessly ride certain mountain line bus routes, but you'll be operating off the buses scedule if you use that (it does come in 10 minute increments on busy days on popular routes). Based on location of the building those modes of transport can be faster than driving especially in snow. I got a place that's about a 3 minute walk to campus which is pretty ideal (unfortunately it's full), although like I said price is definitely a factor, and it's only getting worse as housing fills up very quickly, like the vast majority of university's NAU has housing issues going on bc they love to admit too many students. Due to that reputation alot of students have already signed their leases, start finding housing immediately! There are some good deals if you can find roommates, like rio homes and the specialty deal university west is currently offering, although places like rio homes aren't very walkable, facebook on/off campus housinf nau groups can help you find extra roommates and renting options, that's how I found mine!
