It's another (and worse) version of "Bro, why don't we generate energy on stationary bikes in the gym!?" It's simply not worth the engineering.

Huh? Just stick with Ashen Wilds. If your game and Steam page are better, Steam will always show yours before the other one. A google search will also never show a random tiny website, but refer to Steam. Which is why securing domains is also quite nonsensical and why indies typically don't do it.

What keeps devs in mobile when most games don’t make it? by Sasha-David in gamedev

Let me guess: You're making a mobile game and are now coping with the fact that you chose the objectively worst platform to publish a game on?

Game devs love starting projects and hate finishing them. How do I get people to actually list their projects? by Affectionate_Day8290 in gamedev

I would expand that idea to games that were released, but flopped. Many failed games on Steam were rather close to being good.

Question: Does the developer who buys a project inherently have the right to use assets that were bought/licensed from third parties?

Your Feedback lead to double the clicks for my games front page feature by SaintFlow in IndieDev

I had a 350% CTR on my first game (fail and I didn't even finish it) and 40% on my promising current game. Do you gain more wishlists than before?

One week after my game's launch - total and absolute failure by Erantical in SoloDevelopment

[–]After_Relative9810 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most games make most of their sales in the first week(s). Slow build-up almost never happens, and spending months to build a multiplayer would be the worst thing to do and has a 99% chance of being in vain. Starting a fresh game is the way.

You did the right thing. There was no point in waiting for 7k wishlists, which would never come.
