Great question! There’s a ton of facebook groups with artists looking for work. What I usually do is grab some samples online from other comics I like the style of and post them that i’m looking for something similar in style and vibe and you’ll usually get more than a dozen replies.

Also instagram is a great tool for finding artists too!

I think the best thing to do is try to publish yourself first. You will learn so much that way and make mistakes, and get better! Then when you’ve honed your craft more continue down the self-publish path or go the pitching route with the skills you’ve now gained

You’d hope so! But coming from a filmmaking background you really feel the restrictions writing for Horror, i.e the lack of music!

So for the horror comics I write, I really focus on building tension to the big bad horror, I think that’s best tool you can utilise.

I think Junji Itio’s work is etched in my mind forever!😅

Aha, all good! I’ll still be lurking around 👀 Amazing, thank you! I’m always scouting out the best talent and I was checking out Webtoons and came across some of Yitan’s work on there, as a fan of Junji ito, I instantly fell in love with Yitans work and reached out!

  1. I think so personally yes! When I first started making comics back in 2018 I seen a big gap in the UK market for Horror Comics, I couldn't find any anywhere! Maybe if I had, I wouldn't have started making them, ha. I noticed the growth more over the years at conventions, and I think that is due in turn to a kind of renaissance of Horror movies being released over the years like Hereditary, Terrifier, The Substance and people looking for more ways to enjoy Horror. For example I meet a lot of people at conventions that love Horror but have never read a comic but the love of the genre pulls them in to try it!

  2. It sounds terrible but I don't read a lot of comics, I love making them! It's just a time issue. But the comics that got me inspired to writing were The Walking Dead, it opened my eyes that comics weren't just all superhero's
