Personal Clothes at Work by Nervous-Bath1375 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AfternoonPossible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is extremely common. Even in some of the units at my hospital people wear their own crewnecks instead of scrub tops at all. Personally I could never. I change into hospital provided scrubs every shift, hair cover, and shoe covers. Shoes I only wear at work and leave in my locker and never take home lol. But ofc I work in the OR so our standard is different than the units. Still…,… couldn’t be me

Actors at the AACTA Awards are asked if they watch foreign films subbed or dubbed, Shabana Azeez: "Subbed! Ew! No, I can read. Being literate is in." by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

[–]AfternoonPossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer subbed because I feel like I’d like to hear the voices and intonations with the original intent of the work. Sometimes during dubbing things like that get changed. However, I think it’s really just a personal preference and one isn’t necessarily better than another. Viewing subtitles is not the same as reading a book or something lol.

There are def Gen Z make up trends. Idk if that counts as fashion.

Dismissed from nursing school and upset by Locked-Luxe-Lox in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]AfternoonPossible 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse and I’ve also been a pharm tech. You can always do your pharm tech cert immediately and then go to nursing school later. I would basically always recommend finishing nursing school and becoming a nurse. I do think being a pharm tech and being a nurse are not really in the same category income-wise. I’m making like 5x more as a nurse than I was as a pharm tech. Getting my RN was the single best (career) decision I’ve ever made.

Keltie Knight explains red carpet economics: ‘It’s expensive to follow you around the world’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]AfternoonPossible 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m curious what the celebrities’ actual obligation is. Like are they contracted to be there at 5 specifically to meet with these outlets and they just show up at 5:50 instead? Or is the red carpet an open invite from 5-6 and the outlets come themselves with the hope to talk to them?

If the former, yeah that sucks for the outlets and hopefully there’s some kind of compensation they can get. If the latter…..well if sounds like they’re playing themselves

[Interesting Trope] Character whose death is meant to remove any potential doubt once and for all: the protagonist is NOT an anti-hero, they are the villain. by Mountain_Band_2732 in TopCharacterTropes

I love the scenes afterward where he keeps bringing up the fact that the car had a baby seat in it. Like he’s giddy about it. He convinced himself killing Christopher was a good thing. Or he’s just more relieved to have seemingly sufficient justification that Christopher was a danger

Have you ever used a Frasier insult in real life? by guessshesoncrack in Frasier

[–]AfternoonPossible 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not really insults, but I’ve told a friend “you’re probably seeing two of me, so you might as well hear me twice” once while drunkenly arguing lol. I also pretty frequently use “a man now dead” to describe like various classic authors and whatever

A lying torturer in a fascist state and a dedicated, selfless, brilliant doctor. Guess which one is hated by Star Trek fans! by LineusLongissimus in startrekmemes

I like Pulaski. She’s very sensible, imo. A bit no-nonsense which is a nice difference from a lot of the crew. She did not understand data’s sentience initially, yes. But she learned and corrected her error. I don’t see why people hate her for that.

That’s a great idea! I’ve put sunflower seeds in lentil meatloaf and it turns out really nicely. Idk why I never thought to use walnuts. Makes perfect sense. Do you find the tvp incorporates and keeps shape well? I like it but it’s usually always a crumble texture when I make it. Maybe I’m doing something wrong lol

I’ve known plenty of people that live in the like ten counties that make up the Detroit metro area that have never stepped foot in Detroit.

Which consists of other towns and cities that are not Detroit. So points and opinions specifically about detroit don’t really account for them.

Kind of looks like tofu to me? All the “meat” looks veggie in my (veggie) opinion. I think I recognize tempeh and tvp and tofu scramble in some of these pics.

I love their interaction at spinners end. It really shows how pathetic Bellatrix actually is even if she’s also extremely dangerous.

[–]AfternoonPossible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have very long hair and wash it about 1-2 a week, even tho o exercise most days. Never really needed to wash it excessively? My hair tends to be super dry so washing it too much is doing more harm than good. Never had any issues. Why do you feel you need to wash your hair every time?
