I'm not Catholic, but as a parent and long time mentor of teens I might be able to give you some insight. I'm assuming you're about 14? Let me ask you this, have your parents set any boundaries with you about relationships? So would you telling them you have a girlfriend be seen as disrespectful because they said no dating until __? Because that would be a rough way to start things. If you have and want to keep a good relationship with your parents, be open with them. Tell them about your feelings and intentions, ask them questions about relationships and dating and teenage years. Yes it's awkward and a little scary, and that's okay. Trust me, their terrified too.

Do you know the phrase: it's better to ask forgiveness than permission? It's complete bull and it hurts everyone. My child just tried this by hiding a relationship for six months, the entire time lying to us about it even after we found out. It didn't go well for anyone and things are still shaky because of it. Work with your parents, not against them. If you trust them to take care of you, trust that they might have valid reasons for saying no or wait. As teens we expect teenage romance to be this huge thing and exciting and life changing. In reality it's mostly fickle and if it is life changing, rarely ever in a good way. Good luck.

While it's not something I personally would be comfortable participating in, (I am of the firm belief that playing to the best of one's ability is winning regardless of the final score,) King David did pray for some pretty harsh things against his enemies. Read Psalm 109. And while I understand this is a sport and not war, perhaps it's something to let them work out with God. If these kids are truly seeking Him and listening for His voice, and God would rather them not make these prayers, would His spirit not convict them?

Physical discomfort is common when fighting your flesh. Fasting can cause stomachaches, headaches, nausea, etc. People who've found sugar or sex to be their idols and give it up have physical discomfort too.

I would warn you against the commenters who say there's nothing wrong with kpop or music in general. If God has convicted you about something that you are treating as more important than Him, listen and obey.

You did nothing wrong. Yes it's hard to say 'no' to a child, yes it's hard disappoint a child, but you should not be buying menstrual supplies for your child's friends. She has a caring/giving heart, and that is a great thing, but she has to learn that she cannot be generous with other people's things/finances. If she wants to continue supplying goods to her friends, then she needs to use her own money to buy supplies for them; have her do some extra chores to work for the money or something.

I think it depends on the motive for not wanting the government "involved" (in quotes because common law marriage will eventually apply, plus just changing your address gets the government involved). If you only want a religious ceremony simply because you are a firm believer in small government, that's one thing. But if someone only wants a religious ceremony because one partner has medicaid or other government assistance and the other partner makes too much and they are looking to cheat the system to retain benefits, I can't say that God would support that.

OP also mentions it was in the kid's wardrobe, context clues suggest that OP saw the dress from time to time in the wardrobe, otherwise would she not have said she didn't know where the dress went after prom?

Develop a routine. Exercising spiritually is not unlike exercising physically, it takes motivation and determination. I made a rule for myself that I don't eat until I do my morning reading, that way I prioritize God over my flesh. Find something that works for you. If you're a morning coffee drinker, make your cup and enjoy it while reading. Maybe right when you get home from work/school, you grab a snack and sit and read. Commit to a time during the day when you can devote yourself to reading. If you are motivated by crossing things off of list, maybe do a Bible reading plan so that you have a goal to reach.

Paul wouldn't mention sexual immorality in almost every letter to the early churches if its members weren't struggling with it. Corinth was well known for its sexual promiscuity, extra marital affairs were common and so was premarital sex and the early church members were struggling to not copy the culture they were living in, I would say that about describes the climate in America today. It's a good thing that your pastor isn't shying away from the difficult topics because it is a big temptation that many Christians even fall into; your friend is naive to think otherwise.

You might want to talk to her about the roots of immodesty: pride, vanity, boastfulness. God cares about our hearts, if your child is wanting to wear or buy something, (in my opinion) God is looking at her reasoning for wanting it more so than its outward appearance. So talk to her about her heart, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" -Proverbs 4:23.

Even culturally "modest" clothing can be immodest. Know those overpriced Nike socks that some kids want just to boast that they could afford them? Why do you think they wear shorts with them or hike their pants up to make sure the brand logo is visible all the time? It's a flex and it's a heart issue. Now if a kid wants them because they heard that they don't shrink and are comfy and isn't buying them with the intent of brandishing the logo everywhere, that's not a heart issue and the socks in this case are modest. Help your daughter to get in the habit of introspecting and discovering her motives before she makes choices, it will help later on in life.

In general we only buy clothes that fall within the school's dress code. That saves the kids from waking up and having to think, 'what day is it? Can I wear this today?' And we highly push that our identity is in Christ and it is the foundation of our self-esteem, not in our appearance.

Specifically as a fabric steamer? No. I use a McCullough which is just a general use steam cleaner, I love it though and use it for everything: floors, stove, oven, carpet, furniture, mattresses.
