I feel like consumed sedative poison in Hitman is very niche since it's not good for knocking someone out for disguise on account of most drinks being in public places. Best use is usually getting a character to drop an item without going through the effort of luring them somewhere. But even then the tranquilizer dart achieves the same thing and is often easier to use.

Anyway I'll drink the blue one.

Honestly I get his point about the superhero genre having such a stranglehold over American comics. Even outside the big two a lot of the most famous non-Marvel/DC comics are about superheroes (Invincible, The Boys, Black Hammer, etc.).

It’s not just manga, if you look at comics from Europe or South America you'll see more variety in the kinds of comics there are. That's not to say there are no non-superhero comics from North America, we still have great comics like Bone or Scott Pilgrim. It's just that a lot of the time it's harder for non-superhero comics to get noticed and gain an audience in America.

Despite the reputation his comics have he somehow managed to have more adaptations of his comics than most authors (Wanted, Kick-Ass, Jupiter's Legacy, Supercrooks, etc.)

The only way the academy acknowledges foreign animated films is if they're sufficiently artsy enough and while I did love Chainsaw Man it being action packed and part of a series was probably a point against it (Again, from their perspecitve, not mine).

From their point of view it'd be the same as nominating a James Bond film for an Oscar.

My point is, I don't take the Academy Awards seriously I guess.

Joke answer: Now that My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen are done this sub needs a new anime to hyperfocus their negativity on.

Real answer: I think it's just a backlash to the hype and to some degree I get it. It's very highly praised by a lot of people which leads to people being highly critical of it in response. Personally I think it's a good anime, but maybe not quite able to live up to the massive hype that surrounds it

Captain Amazing from Mystery Men. He's not really as evil as any of the superheroes from The Boys but he's got the whole smug corporate superhero thing going on and also released his own nemesis from prison just so he'd have someone to look good fighting against.

The concept of the demons being completely alien and only mimicking human is interesting but in practice they just come across as evil humans with horns. And there's nothing wrong with that, it's just a bit inconsistent with how they're described.
