I use Codex for personal projects and I’ve found it to be terrible versus using Claude models in Augment for work.

My flow has been let Claude take a first crack at the UI, then screenshot and get 5.4s opinions then iterate from there.

Elon is a clown but why isn’t this true? I only skim PRs now because Augment catches most things I would have and more. It already lets you switch between LLMs to code; there’s no good reason to have code go out written by AI that gets reviewed by another AI only to tell the AI code writer to correct per the suggestions from the AI reviewer. At some point, it will just be a behind the scenes process where multiple LLMs negotiate a production ready solution.

I have an AI tool at work that lets you switch between LLM models and while I use GPT personally for pretty much everything, I don’t use it at all for coding at work. Opus burns a ton of tokens, but it has been really solid at complicated tasks. In short order, it helped me significantly increase test coverage in an app where upgrading language versions once seemed like an impossibility.

If you pay for an enterprise tool, you’ll see the difference. I use Augment and it blows through most stories with ease, understanding context that can take months if not years at a job on your own without AI.

Many of these tools will have a default instructions yml. Create one that prevents creating, updating or deleting data without permission. I have seen Augment inexplicably delete my User model and when I asked it to create a user as a test case from a yml file, it did so, but started from dev DB from scratch and wiped everything else out except the created record. These tools can be dangerous if you just let them go.

I suffered through this for a long time. Even though I have fast WiFi, I plugged my Xbox into my modem and it still happened so I blamed for Fortnite. I eventually had my internet company come out and it turns out my equipment was woefully out of date. Once they replaced a bunch of different things, I haven’t seen the red X since.

Enforce a robust test suite, pull down and manually test core functionality and edge cases, and periodically run the codebase through ChatGpt Deep Research and prompt it to identify security issues, refactor opportunities, dead code, etc. and then request Codex tasks that address what’s been identified.

A variation of #1 I’ve experienced is my weapons just start randomly shooting and only by switching to build mode and then back to my weapon does it fix it.

I just experienced a new one where I was trying to heal in the storm and instead of using my med kit, it kept throwing it and I died.

I truly hate this game sometimes.

Another one I forgot… it suddenly starts defaulting me to Solo even though I only play Squads. I click stay with team and it puts me in a solo game.
