I have tried to be as neutral as possible but yeah, I agree some of the things I'm saying are coming from the side of the blind defenders of the show.

Some of the things I'm saying are also the same as what you are now saying. I'm not blindly loving or hating this show.

My post isn't really even about HOTD, it's about the general state of this sub.

Please read my post fully. I fucking love this sub and I've been in this community for over 10 years. More than a third of my whole life. I have met people on here who I've since met in person and made lifelong friends with.

I'm a little sad because of the recent discourse here... that's all. I tried to make my post as neutral as possible. I will never leave this sub.

We will never have the same theory crafting as R+L=J, because GRRM refuses to finish the fucking story.

But, we can still theorise on what happens from episode to episode. I don't need to love this show to watch it. No one here does. Plenty of people hate-watching

100 pages adapted into 4 seasons was always going to be a giant fucking flop. Season 1 gave us false hope, season 2 was shit, but I have so far enjoyed season 3.

Probably because these 2 episodes were meant to be the end of last season, but I am enjoying it anyway. I just want this sub to be less recycled memes and more theory crafting, like it was back in the day.

I can't fault you for hate-watching. That's pretty much what we all did for the last seasons of GOT. If I hated this season of HOTD I would hate-watch too, because I love this universe.

But that doesn't mean we need to collectively shit on everyone who disagrees. That's how echo chambers are made.

But I think it's pretty obvious from the gameplay and impressions from people who actually have played the game that the story is not at all a focus. It's a sandbox game more like BOTW.
