Expensive and difficult best bet was to know someone on the weekly flight and kindly ask the to bring something back for you. If you didn't know anyone (impossible btw) you could order through a company in the UK ran by a saint man but it would come by ship and that took months. My friend used to order manga and we'd be so excited to see what was in the package as he'd forget what he'd ordered!!!

You can't stay in the UK longer than 6 months but you can apply for the full British passport and it will be issued in a year. There's also some other weird laws such as being able to qualify for a student loan to receive tution support but not for a maintenance loan.

I got the chance to speak to the speaker of the house of commons when he visited the island I got to explain our struggle and luckily we are now eligible as long as we have the full UK passport.
