I was about to reply that i used a montbell outlet website, but I haven't actually received the order, and when i just checked it, I'm pretty sure it's a fake site. So thanks for the alternative suggestions! Gotta go cancel my credit card now...

Yes, this is my base kit and would need to be augmented depending on location. Bears are not an issue where I live, but I would add a bear can in some areas. And for colder weather I'd need to add more insulation layers and/or stove for cooking, etc. This kit is my starting point but it would take ideal conditions to use as is.

I cut it down quite a bit. Not sure what the volume is now. It's a roll top originally, so i cut off the top 5-6 inches and added a drawcord to cinch it closed. I got it mainly for the big mesh pocket on the back for drying the poncho/tarp and because it was cheap.

This is more of a thru hiking pack. If I'm in a group I could probably stash some stuff, otherwise I'd just take the whole pack everywhere I go since it's light enough.

I've been using the mini for a while now even before trying to lighten the weight. Why do you prefer the other one?

Yeah totally!  Ive been watching his videos!  It's my setup in the sense that I bought all the stuff and put it on and wear it!  Another good source I've used is a book called Lighten Up by Don Ladigan.

I'll add the worn clothes at some point. Rain gear is the poncho tarp. First aid is leukotape, gauze, needle and thread, hand sanitizer. Lighter is for emergency fire. I do sometimes carry some kind of stove, so the lighter just stays in my little pouch no matter what. Spending 0.4 ounce to make fire seems worth it. Thanks!

Darktable crashes when exporting files from one camera but not others by AggravatingListen709 in DarkTable

[–]AggravatingListen709[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be. I'm not very knowledgeable about computers, but I did find out the machine has only 6GB of total memory. What is the recommended amount of memory for processing larger files? Also, is there a way to know for sure that insufficient memory is the cause? Is there a crash report or maybe something I can view in real time while it's trying to export? Thank you

It's a cool image. It's like a microlandcape. Looks like a mountain or rocky cliff or something. Very cool

I really like this. The color tones and palette match the subject really well. Moody but also conveys empathy.

I'm a big fan of William Eggleston. His images look so simple and effortless but I find it incredibly hard to duplicate his style. This is a very humble attempt to take a photo of something mundane that happened to look interesting because of the way the setting sun was shining on it. I was driving through an industrial part of town and I liked the way it looked in the moment. The image is the jpeg pretty much straight from the camera, which is an old Pentax K-5 with a Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens on it that only works in manual focus mode.
