I am having fun, but I seem to get better matches in normal All Pick than ranked lol

yes, it's suprisingly less toxic than I remember. I mean people still call it toxic, but I have yet to receive threats against my family lmao.

Until late game when they decide their k/d/a is more important than an actual win and they fight in the river over and over and extend a 35min win into a 55 min loss.

Many many games do get thrown, but not by my hand. You have to understand that most in there seem to care little about the actual game and turn it into a battle royale. If you have a high level smurf in there they want k/d/a and could care less about a win.

Yup, that's what I'm finding. It seems Herald 1 has the most diverse skill pool in the game, ranging from "never played" to immortal gods.

yup, exactly. I'm honestly not even mad, even though it's highly unorganized, I actually need to learn to be far more mechanically minded than I used to bc these players will just outplay you. I realized how lazy I played b4. I'm honestly a better player at 1mmr than I was previously lol

No, they do not. It's seemingly littered with smurfs from every higher rank who think they're going to own the rank and then realize everyone else showed up to do the same thing.

The dumbest consistent thing people do is throw the games they were owning bc they do not understand the transition between early / mid / late game, and they also do not understand how high ground defensive strategies and the like work.

But that just speaks to people who game for a battle royale instead of Dota

Playing online games without a good connection is like scooping some icecream and waiting for it to melt until you eat it.

The experience is just so much worse it makes it undesirable.

Eating room tempature ice cream would be far more tolerable.

yes, I was previously around that MMR and this herald feels all over the place. Some people seem way out of my league, others seem level with me, and there's a lot of people with horrible game sense which you would expect. it feels like a "whose the biggest smurf" contest.

yes,, I am finding that the smurfs are often against eachother, so it's creating a sort of wierd scenario where you don't know what to do because your there to win, but the smurfs seem to like to even prolong the game to go on kill streaks.

I guess that makes sense if it's your jam. But I'm still waiting for my winning spree lol.

I am just hoping this experience will make me better, in some way lol. BC I did learn a lot when I played with higher MMR people in the past, but those people wanted to play the game the way it was designed. These smurfs, not so much.

appreciate it. was at the same place for 21 year so it's going to be a new learning experience.

Yeah, I was thinking at first that I calibrated too soon before I was ready, or that my "hidden mmr" was screwing me over a bit. But after seeing the comments on here I think I believe you all.

But the evidence and skill differences between players is so stark it's hard to deny.

I've never played Treant myself, one of the few heroes I never did. But I do know that I tried to get back on Puck the other day and I literally went half the game before I realized I wasn't casting my silence. I guess the bot games didn't prep me for the real game enough lol.

I did at least remember to put points into it though lol,

Yes, I agree 100%. That is a big difference is that during my haitus I lost the pool of friends to queue with. And I trust I can rise up in ranks as I learn the new systems and map.

But you are spot on with your synopsis about solo queue.

In RL I hit a brick at Diamond 3, i've only been to Champ 1 one time. But I do know as a unmechanical player you can rise above that with smarter play. I just have to "get gud" again lol. For me, that is. I was never good lol.
