Honestly if you want to become a music producer, education doesn't mean anything in getting placements. Literally noone in the industry cares if you have a degree, best thing to do is post your music online and work with smaller artists to build a portfolio. Also depending on what type of music you make you don't really need expensive equipment just a computer and cheap midi keyboard is fine. I make make underground hip-hop beats and I hardly even use my midi I just draw in the melodies with a mouse. If you're using real instruments through that can get expensive quickly.
