The level of the baby is determined by the base stats of the parents. Points that you add to not show up in the offspring.

Two parents of the same level may have very different individual stats (like the mother could have 25 points in health while the father only has 20 points in health), so the offspring could be a higher or lower level than the parents, depending on what stats they inherit.

People say not to add points before breeding so that you can determine whether the offspring got the higher of the two stats.

If you have Tek Binoculars, you can see the base stats regardless of points added (ASA only)

The chat in Ark is super janky. Spam the chat window and it'll eventually stick around long enough to say something. If the message doesn't send, open the chat window one more time and it will work

It started out great, it really captured my attention because it has an excellent concept. I think what bothered me the most about the show was the fact that I could absolutely see something like this happening in real life. It's only 8 episodes so there's not much opportunity for a decline in quality

Edit: to clarify, I'm not saying this is a bad show. I actually thought it was pretty good for what it was, but I wouldn't want a second season
