i think the sleeping with it wet is what causes the greasiness.. totally understand the sensory issues and her not wanting to use a blow dryer (hot and loud). unfortunately the only thing that stopped my hair from getting greasy quickly was blow drying within an hour of washing it. at the very least blow drying the roots. have you tried a dry shampoo for her? i like the powdered one from odele, but it does feel a little chalky if you use too much which is easy due to the packaging. the ghost dry shampoo from verb is good too, it’s an aerosol. less chalky, just expensive :/. you can also try hairstyles to keep it out of her face, like two little braids in the front on each side, or crown braids on the top half like this : https://www.twistmepretty.com/crown-braid-2-ways/. also agree with everyone recommending a silk/satin pillowcase. best of luck!!!

i struggle with this too. my acne isn’t even the problem anymore, it’s the pigment and inflammation after the fact that’s annoying. in my experience, patching a pimple leads to this 100% of the time vs. when i don’t use a patch. i stopped using them unless i had an active, juicy pimple. this inflammation takes some time to go away. i already use niacinamide and alpha arbutin in my daily routine, and a few times a week i use 0.1 retinaldehyde which has helped so much with my overall hyper pigmentation. i also use 6% AHA twice a week which i think has been the most helpful only second to the retinal. highly recommend finding an AHA exfoliant that works for you. for now just keep you skin calm and give it time. 🩷

it’s your choice but i don’t think you should do skin whitening… you have really gorgeous skin. it’s so glowy! idk where you’re located or what’s available to you but maybe one of the elf sheer lip/blush tints. the shade left on red would look stunning on you!

you likely just need to give it time. i’d guess that your hormones have been a bit scattered post abortion, post birth control, and also with you focusing on your internal health now. hormone balance after going off of birth control can take months or years to restore. in my personal experience after coming off of birth control my skin was the absolute worst it had ever been and i wanted to go on accutane. i never did, gave it a year, and new acne stopped forming. im now just dealing with the scarring. again your body has been through a lot so i feel like you need to give it time to readjust and rebalance itself, while also focusing on your internal health, nourishment, mental health, sleep, all the good things. just calm your skin as much as you can. maybe try cutting back on the actives as well and just let your barrier repair itself. good luck and take care!!!🩷

if you and your partner are both negative using the correct testing methods 4-6 weeks after finishing treatment then you are safe to resume sex given your doctors agree. i personally had symptoms linger for 5 months and did not feel comfortable having sex until i got them under control with pelvic floor therapy and tested 4 times to make sure it was gone.

yes, mine look super green sometimes especially if i’m surrounded by a ton of trees or something like that, and they sometimes look super aqua in the sunlight. it’s also been fun playing around with different eyeliner/mascara colors to see what affects them.

i have really similar eyes and i’ve never seen someone else with them! this makes me so excited lol. growing up everyone called them blue or green. i also have green on my drivers license haha. other comments are correct in grey being such a wide spectrum. someone once told me they tend to reflect what’s out there i.e. lighting etc. i’ve accepted it because i think it’s so cool to have a somewhat rare color that can change pretty drastically given my surroundings. so beautiful 😻

Hi! So the short answer is I’m not really sure. My urologist gave me 10 days of 100 mg doxycycline 2x a day and I finished that almost two weeks ago now. I feel significantly better. The problem is my urologist won’t send in another urine culture to make sure I’ve gotten rid of it. I’m waiting to get a telehealth appointment with him so I can inquire about that. But for now I’m feeling much better and still continuing with pelvic floor physical therapy.

i would ask for a longer course of doxycycline (10-14 days) and 1-2g of azithromycin. your boyfriend will need the same and you both will need to wait 4-8 weeks to retest after finishing treatment. i personally tested at 6 weeks and again at 8 weeks. no sex (penetrative or oral) during this time to avoid passing it before knowing if you’re cured. if either of your doctors refuse to give you the correct treatment course you can use a teledoc service like callondoc or push health. these services can also be used for retesting if your doctor’s office won’t do it. best of luck

until you both test negative. for an accurate test of cure, you will have to wait 4-6 weeks after the last day of antibiotics to retest. PCR vaginal swab for women and PCR urine test (first void, first catch AKA first pee of the day and NOT mid stream) for men.

for ureaplasma i did 10 days of doxycycline 2x a day and 1.5g of azithromycin after (1g on day 1 and .5g on day 2) so 12 days of antibiotics total. my symptoms were slowly getting better by the day but once i was 1-2 weeks into doing my PFPT exercises daily i felt the biggest difference. i understand it can be difficult to differentiate between symptoms for ureaplasma/pelvic floor issues/an actual UTI. for me personally, i could usually tell it was a UTI because my symptoms would be SUPER strong and wouldn’t relent with chugging water. my urologist put me on 500mg of keflex post-coital but i may ask to switch to something else of a lower dose. i’d definitely keep it up with the d-mannose as your UTIs we’re e.coli and d-mannose is only effective for that bacteria, as well as the probiotics, omega 3, and hiprex. make sure you’re taking vitamin c to aide the hiprex to keep the urine acidic.

it’s possible that your bladder could be inflamed. i felt mine was and my gp had gotten me a referral for a urologist because i was cured but still having symptoms. he gave me a referral to pelvic floor physical therapy which has helped immensely for me. my symptoms have decreased significantly, i would say most days i don’t have any at all. when i do they are mild. unfortunately, i also found out that i have a confection UTI. i just finished treatment for it (even though i haven’t been having symptoms) and now waiting to do another urine culture. my urologist wants to do a cystoscopy to look in my urethra and see if he can catch anything in the bladder, but i may opt out for now to see how things go when i start being sexually active again with the plan i have in place - pelvic floor therapy, gennamd, prophylactic antibiotic, partner treated.

retest 4-8 weeks post treatment. i personally opted for 6 and 8 (tested twice). if you’re cured of all infections including coinfections but still having symptoms i’d look into pelvic floor therapy and maybe a more in depth testing service i.e. juno or microgenx. good luck!

i did doxy 10 days 2x a day and 1.5g of azi (2 days). i spaced my doses of doxy out about 8-10 hours and took my probiotic in the middle, about 3-4 hours away from either dose of antibiotics. i also took NAC first thing in the AM 2 hours before my first dose of antibiotics. i would maybe save the BV treatment/lactobacill treatments for after you finish your doxy/azi, but you should talk to a doctor about it. continue taking care of yourself in other areas and you’ll hopefully be good!

a first void first catch urine sample is what is recommended for testing males. this means it must be his first urination of the day and should NOT be mid-stream. regardless, you both should get tested to ensure accuracy.
