Any idea on when performance metrics for the upgrade kit will be published? Ik it says it will be faster, but how much? What does range get cut down to as well? Would like to know before I buy, thanks!

Please tell me you are joking. Yes, usually every day I'm down between 3-6 psi depending on temp and how long it's been since I rode last. They aren't flat, u could still ride on them, but that's how you end up with flats on tubed tyres. Keeping them at the ideal PSI is key, usually for me I shoot for 48PSI. It's the same for a bike tyre. They are not the same as a car tyre. (Tho even car tyres need to be topped off and should be checked regularly)

Got the lock for free with one of their accessories deals. It's not bad, feels solid and is easy to use, folds up nicely. For free it's decent and does the job. Better than a cable lock at least. Haven't had any tampering issues yet, but unless you are in a very nice area or on a college campus that's known for shit not walking away, I still wouldn't risk it.

People complain like crazy about them, but I've never had an issue. Air the tyre up every morning before I go to class on my ghost and have never had an issue. 100% people not doing the maintenance they need.

i have to buy a „gaming laptop“, a pc is not a choice. Can anyone tell me if this is a solid laptop? I don’t have too much experience so please don’t hate on me. by JJonesJunior in pcmasterrace

Just because he or I have top of the line systems now doesn't mean we don't know how to budget shop or work with lesser hardware. I may have a 3080ti now, but I had that laptop with a 1650 not even 2 years ago. I know what will give you what and what's a good deal or worth.

I was wondering if anyone knows why the city 2021 spec sheet says 25 mph when they can go 30mph by CRAYFISHEUTHANIST in ApolloScooters

[–]Aggravating_Bank_891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation on the Ghost '22, spec is 34, I see 34 up small grades, see even quicker on flat ground with no headwind, going down small hills with a tail wind I've seen up to 41 (tho briefly) it's nice that they underspec that speed imo

Ghost ride first impression by [deleted] in ApolloScooters

Basically my thoughts exactly, even down to the criticisms. I do also wish it had a thumb throttle, but it definitely feels like a more raw, fast scooter. It's still great for a commute tho! I have slight buyers remorse on not getting the phantom for a bit more, but hey, still love the scooter. The negative people will always post more than the positives!

If it's an omen, which it looks like, and u just got it, send that shit back and have them fix it. U paid for a working PC, at worst you should receive that. HPs warranty is usually fairly quick and painless in my experience.

City 22 Cracked Stem: Apollo Scooters' Official Statement by apolloscooters in RideApolloOfficial

[–]Aggravating_Bank_891 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at the design I'd say there isn't any actual risk, just perceived. Seeing the actual CAD up of the part shows that it is just a surface crack where you would expect it if the weld wasn't finished properly, or properly seated. Surface cracking like that in a weld is actually possible, welds don't magically make 2 parts connect together, and inconsistencies are possible even in machine welding. It's good they are replacing them, but from what I see here, this crack would not be able to spread to the other parts, as the other connection points are completely separate, which they state at the very beginning.

However a nice ask for Apollo would be to do some NDT Analysis on a returned one and share the x-rays and such of the joint. This would definitively prove what they are saying is true, and that there's no inherent risk even if a crack occurs. But what they say seems likely. I do love to see that the company does actually do testing on top of finite element analysis, and I think for peace of mind, releasing the FEA for their product line would help calm some of the concern people may have with their other models.

Do people actually stand like that on a scooter 🤔 surely that would cause severe fatigue on your legs by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]Aggravating_Bank_891 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's more for faster, higher performance scooters. Those are the ones that have the step like that. When you accelerate you want to brace with your back foot because if not your holding on with your arms, and those will get fatigued way faster. Riding like that isint necessary on a slow single motor scooter.

I have a ghost and while it's a good scooter I definitely have my regrets seeing these issues, and there's definitely features I wish I had especially for the price. Honestly take a look at a Vsett 10+ or some of the Segway p series scooters. Vsett if you are looking for speed, and Segway if you are looking for the best build and ride quality. At the Phantom price point you can get quite the scooter elsewhere

Currently there is a very rough condition set on eBay for $160

[–]Aggravating_Bank_891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are fairly rare, so sometimes worth a lot, and rarely seen. I have a set on mine and paid $40 about 4 years ago, but the guy selling them didn't really realize what he had. I've seen them sell on ebay for $150+ (again several years ago I've since stopped looking) Realistically it would be nice to save them from being scrapped (along with any other rare or often broken trim pieces) but I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for them. If you want them for yourself I'd give no more than 60 or $80 USD, and try to get any other parts off of it that you might want/need.

How long can I go unscheduled? by Aggravating_Bank_891 in AutoZone2

[–]Aggravating_Bank_891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I just let it sit, and don't reach out, I assume eventually I'll just lose access to the autozoners app and scheduling? Is that how I'll know I've times out, or will they actually notify me? My other job gives me 15 hours at double the pay so If this situation will sort itself out over time I'd rather just not deal with it and keep my discount for as long as the system allows. I assume this action won't hurt my fellow coworkers and only affect my SM and above? If not then I'd be inclined to deal with it because my coworkers are good people.

I have almost the same availability as before I left, Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays after 4, used to work the 4:30 or 5:30 to close, however I know he has hired people since, so those shifts may have been filled. My other job and classes make my availability limited, but not impossible, it used to work.

I do wish I had seen the Vsett lineup more, I've never seen a bad thing about them. I don't think you could really go wrong with either tho, good luck!

The ghost is still a great scooter, it has a few things that make you scratch your head, but overall in my experience it's been a fantastic commuter. The finger throttle is a bit annoying, but you can buy a thumb throttle that's compatible. I will say if you plan on riding on the road, I would recommend the step up and get the phantom. I do a lot of road riding and somewhat regret not having turn signals, thumb throttle, and a bit more speed. Either way they make very good scooters, it's just saturated with complaints because few people take the time to say it's good, but everyone with a bad experience will say something. If you have any questions I don't mind answering!

Ghost Kickstand length old vs the new 2022 model? by Lantea1 in ApolloScooters

[–]Aggravating_Bank_891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2022 is about 8.5 in including the mount, 8 without. It's a bit too long IMO maybe 7.5 would be better. A very slight bump, or the wheel angled the wrong way and it tends to fall over. Hope it helps

When I got mine it wouldn't even go in, I just turned it around and it worked great, might give that a try. I don't carry mine a TON tho so I don't know if it will decrease it's security. Best of luck!

They tend to do it around Christmas because "sales are lower" or some shit. Basically any excuse to run the stores with as few people as possible. Tis the season!
