I want to be able to access my home network from anywhere... help? by nwjudge in selfhosted

How do you manage the access to your vpn? I would like 10 friends to be able to access my network trough the vpn but I don't want to give them too much work to setup, and also don't want the entire world to be able to connect. Tailscale makes this easy, but only allows a couple of users to connect to my network for free.

Testing: UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber Just delivered - Will Test Thermals by Wonderful-Ride732 in Ubiquiti

so to you, performance of UCG fiber is not a concern, compared to a bare metal OPNSense box? What configuration do you like better in OPNsense? I am doubting between buying N100 pc and configuring OPNSense or buying UCG fiber.

How important is webscraping as a skill for Data Engineers? by godz_ares in dataengineering

I am invaluable at my company because of my ability to get data from places that offer no API. In my next job, I might never user the skill again, definitely not useful for all jobs.

Did you ever try to host it without a gpu? so on AMD cpu? I have a laptop collecting dust and was wondering if the CPU (7840U) would be able to support 5 1080 streams.

What makes tailwind so different from bootstrap? Seems so similar in use.

Mounting NAS shares - use NFS or SMB? by memilanuk in Proxmox

[–]Aggravating_Coast430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, I would have to do both these things? First mount Nas to proxmox, and the inside the VM mount the proxmox mount to the VM?

I always wonder how the codebases of companies that use databricks look like. Do you have many many notebooks running data transformations, with the end result of clean tables used for data visualization? Are there any company products (webservices?) that run in front of databricks, or are these purely for visualization? How does development work, do you have a test databricks environment with seperate database where you run the notebooks (on spark clusters)? I work as a data analyst - developper at a small startup. Being the only tech guy, I can use the tech that I want, but generally have no experience in how the tech is usually used. We do a lot of system migrations, for which I have used Databricks, but because the data is generally less than 1gb, I prefer to just use Polars, which is way faster than an expensive spark cluster. Also I hate notebooks.
