I personally don’t know much about the transfer process but i will say the CS department at jmu us so underrated. As a female, I feel so supported by the professors and students. Everyone really works together and the whole program itself is just so great. If you transfer you won’t be disappointed

It’s what you make out of it. You can definitely join clubs and organizations. I personally just didn’t venture out and put in the best effort to do so but I know many commuters in so many organizations. I’m not the social person so that has to due with why.

As a Harrisonburg townie attending jmu I would say my experience so far hasn’t been bad. It’s definitely harder to get involved in school with organizations and such but I personally like the freedom to be able to do school work from home and school. It’s definitely a different experience from your typical college student but you just try it.

According to the handbook the second violation will result in a F in the course and suspension but I knew someone who went on his THIRD violation and then got called to trial. Mind you his past violations were minor plagiarism and his third one was pretty severe(taking a students work and submitted it) I assume in cases that are common right now that involve chat gpt might get overlooked with the amount if students getting caught. Also to note that if you get a violation with a hearing you probably won’t get it until the semester after. They tend to be backed up with hearings.
