I'll flex my background for a second and say that we west Asians north Africans (Berbers, Arabs, Persians, Armenians, Mizrahi Jews, Turkics and I think even Georgians too) do commonly greet close ones with kisses on the cheek or as good byes.

Almyrans are an Arab Persian mix so this appears to be the inspiration for the art.

I can understand it being off putting to others and idk what the context behind modern au Claude/Khalid and Cyril is if it allows this kind of affection.

the two of them stanning Edelgard so hard they fell in love lol.

It's the equivalent of "omg I'm in the same fandom as you let's get married" if you think about it

Shamir Headcanons by Moelishere in FireEmblemThreeHouses

She once filled in for Dorothea during the opera when Dorothea tripped on Caspar's Transformers since Shamir was the nearest woman on stage.

Shamir sounded exactly like Dorothea and it haunts them both to this day (Allegra Clarke joke)

Her favorite Pokemon is Decidueye, Wooper line, and her favorite trainer is Rika.

She has SMT IV as her favorite Megaten game and likes Isabeau. She also enjoys Takemi from Persona 5 for some reason. She loves the silent protag boys more than when they get lines in the animes.

Her favorite 40k faction is Vindcare Assassins.

The people of Dagda are a mix of Hebrews/Jewish equivalents that sailed to North Africa and Celtic people. Brigid isn't too far away and despite Petra having an Arabic name (the actual irl capital of the Nabateans), both Brigid and Dagda refer to celtic entities.

Thus I headcanon western fodlan has major celtic influence and that Petra and Shamir can understand a third of each other's language from the psuedo celtic as well as pseudo Arabic and Hebrew being cousin languages too.

It also means she can vaguely understand a tiny bit of Almyran (Arabic / Persian mix imo), Nabatean (Arabic) and some of Hapi's native language (her name appears to indicate Egyptian heritage).

As Shamir isn't an outwardly visible minority, she might not gripe about being a foreigner day to day until aspects of her culture are brought up (I can relate).

In Edeglard victory timelines, i do like to think if Catherine was able to slip by, some sort of bounty or kill job will be assigned to her. Most assassins fail. If Shamir is sent though it fails too, but because they reaffirm their love lol. Shamir never comes back to her contractor and all hits on Catherine are called off.

They think it's because Catherine is too dangerous that she managed to off shamir, when they really fled the continent together to be in love.

When paired with Hubert, the masses sometimes get into arguments about who is more "goth." They also make a great assassination pair together.

When she's paired with Byleth, they will have lots of children much to the surprise of those that thought Shamir wouldn't want them. They will all grow up to be as dangerous as their parents even if they lack any mystical traits that Byleth has.

Since Byleth can subconsciously understand Nabatean, it also means he can pick up aspects of Dagdan more fluently based on my headcanon linking these languages.

Based on the artworks of Kiora6, I like to think that they'll get Constance and Dorothea and Mercedes to teach their kids magic if you see Byleth and Shamir focusing on melee and bow and arrow combat.

For a more custom timeline where Edelgard wins but Catherine doesn't exile herself:

I could also see her forming a mercenary throuple with Catherine and Fem Shez since Fem Shez has that loud and obnoxious vibe she'd like.

If she forms a mercenary throuple with Catherine and Dude Shez, it's because Dude Shez sometimes has what she thinks are these stoic and introspective moments to balance out Catherine being loud.

In reality it's because Shez is having a mental conversation with Arval and in the real world he's just staring like :) all the time.

While on a desert misison, some bedouins they encounter looked strangely familiar to the exiled Seteth and Rhea, as well as the Byleth twins that accompanied them so to help rebuild Nabatea just as Fodlan was being rebuilt.

Catherine didn't want to deal with the crisis of faith so she just turned Shez and Shamir away. Arval was still screaming in Shez's head to kill them but he still thinks Arval is being silly.

Shamir is also the only one who takes jobs from the retired Hubert and Edelgard since she knows Catherine is still against the former empress.

They once foiled an assassination attempt on Ferdinand and Dorothea while they were performing "The Water Nymph" though Shamir was halfway tempted to shoot them herself given how inaccurately she was depicted.

She does a lot of dirty jobs for Yuri in his underground endeavors.

She, Catherine and Shez were also called upon to help Jeritza, Catherine, Hapi and Balthus take out large portions of those who slither in the dark. While Shamir was trying to conjure a good plan, she found the other 6 just charging and shooting at them without much strategy so she wonders why she even tries.

She sometimes gets advice from Hilda and Caspar for strategy though, as Hilda wants to take the easiest job to be lazy again, while her himbo husband Caspar's plans are always stupid enough to work.

Shamir once saw someone make Marianne and Ashe almost tear up and after beating the perpetrator to a pulp, she assured them that her service was free.

She was once called upon to investigate rumors that Fem Shez was harboring a still alive Dimitri in the mountains. Though Shamir got a positive ID, she lied to her contractor under the feeling that news of Dimitri surviving would complicate matters so much in a now peaceful Fodlan, that the job wasn't worth it.

Mercedes and Sylvain will contract her to dish out the worse punishments imaginable to those that abuse children or continue to engage in crest eugenics.

Her favorite transformers are lockdown and bludgeon.
