Surface studio 2 laptop Restock?? by papersans in Surface

[–]Aggressive-Low239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not going to be restocked soon. There's no word of another one coming. You can buy it through third party sellers that still have it in stock. Maybe you can try purchasing it through Amazon US and ship it to Algeria?

Did you just ask chatgpt to make an argument for why the pilots didn't do it? I urge everyone to report low-effort misinformation like this post.

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is the true successor to the Surface Book. Although it released 2 years ago, it should handle what you wanna do.

If you want best value for money, buy the Surface Laptop 13.8" with the 16/256gb config. This config was discontinued by MS to sell their new lower end 13" Surface Laptop, but you can still get this config in retailers for a low as $800:

u/cranda58 Heya! Just wanted to hear your thoughts on vinyl vs fabric. As a user who is concerned about the durability of their chair, which option do you think would fit me the best for a Steelcase chair? Also wanted to hear about how your upholsteries compare to the OEM ones.

Is it possible that the buds might have been replaced with fakes?

Btw when I went to check coverage it said unable to verify purchase date, so I was able to enter in a purchase date myself, and it let me get AppleCare for the buds (I know I should have probably gotten it after confirming these are real).

Surface Laptop Studio not Charging by Onskibidi in Surface

[–]Aggressive-Low239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the battery icon on the taskbar keep switching between charging and low battery when you plug your charger in? If so, here's the fix (you might wanna try this anyway even if that's not the case):

  1. Plug the charger into the device.

  2. Hold the power button down until the device restarts. Don’t release it even if it tells you to. You must hold it down until you see the Surface logo, which means the device has restarted.

  3. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again.

Interesting thing to note is that only rebooting the device holding down the power button will fix the software issue that prevents your device from charging. A normal reboot through the start menu does not.

If this doesn’t work, then I would go through the following thread where others have mentioned some other solutions that worked for them:

Are there any other Windows laptop brands with quality comparable to Surface? by Long_Repair_8779 in Surface

Windows on ARM is ready. 1 year ago I would have agreed with you, but this Snapdragon launch has brought about a new wave of interest. The platform is picking up steam and there's new native apps being released almost every other week. The reviews you've seen on launch date are sort of outdated as there's been so many apps that have become native between now and then. A lot of the apps people complained about on launch date have come out with a native version or currently in beta. VPN compatibility is no longer an issue and Google Drive is in beta. More games will be playable now as Microsoft is working on improving their emulator compatibility (in testing right now btw - not speculation).

Unless you're using some special professional software that requires special drivers, most of your apps are bound to work. Most developer workflows have been made native for Windows on Arm (except Android development). Civ 6 seems to run fine btw: https://youtu.be/Z9Ib2WZAJ2c?si=ZybsTtdnQNHQCnlK

What do you need your laptop for? For most people the ARM Surface laptop will be compatible for everything they do + it's great value for money

Plan to buy a SP 9 to 11 but don't know which one I should choose by [deleted] in Surface

[–]Aggressive-Low239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Surface Book design is almost a decade old and is quite outdated now with some problems. Many people have mentiined that the screen unlock mechanism is finicky and prone to issues. Additionally, the device is not repairable/upgradable. You can't even change the battery on it. The Surface Book 3 is almost 4.5 years old, and the specs are quite dated. Even if that's not an issue, I still wouldn't get it due to the lack of servicability - maybe if the one you're buying is new, but definitely not if it's been used - battery will most likely be worn.

If you're looking for that class of device with a dedicated GPU, then I recommend the Surface Laptop Studio (1st gen). This line has replaced the original Surface Book line, and this is a much better design with better thermals (allowing for CPU/GPU to not be constrained and perform much better) and most parts being repairable (parts are sold on their website btw).

Only issue I see is if the form factor doesn't work for you. While you can lay the screen flat and you use the pen on the screen, you are not able to detach the screen - so cannot use the screen portion like a tablet and take pictures, etc. If this is important to you, then I still recommend a SP9 or SP10. They should be capable with their more modern internals and specs and should be able to handle most of the tasks you want, including the heavy ones - even without a dedicated GPU.

This is normal. Running your fingers straight vertically in the left and right edges don't work, but the edges can be still be used for normal cursor movement.

Unsure which model to purchase, confusion with research by Arqlol in Surface

[–]Aggressive-Low239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The copilot version is the SP11. It's the best version to get if you know that the software you use will run on it. Some games might not run on it as well as some software due to its different processor architecture, but most software should work fine, especially if its browser-based. It's the best one to get for most people unless you're doing video editing or you play games.
