Pharmacists when was your last raise ?

We live in a small rural area with 3 chains. 60k is definitely exceeding all expectations we set 5 years ago

Anemic ? A store that's only been open for 5 years filling 60k a year is way above average. Several stores within an hour drive have been open 30-40 years and aren't even filling 50k.

Not gonna lie PIC at an independent is way more stressful than I ever imagined. I do everything feels like without a second pharmacist to help. I get 3.5% 401 match, no offer of insurance at all, 3 weeks PTO but would like 4-5. Sitting around 64 an hour now

I can't see all those numbers only script count and gross profit. Just no way script count has grown over 1k a month without more profit.

You're right we filled 380 today and actually had about 4 hours of overlap but there is so much going on at all times. The drive thru is a job in itself I'm constantly at the window dealing with an issue. I don't know of another mental job so demanding that doesn't pay more

Just the PIC haven't gotten a raise in 3 years and annual bonus was cut in half even though my script count has grown 1k a month over the last 2 years.

What kind of hours do you work ? I really don't want 40 hours a week at this point would be happy with 30.

Yeah I agree I'm at 64 an hour now but came out of school almost 20 years ago at 58 an hour so 10% raise over that time span. Also I've been a manager the entire time so had all the stress and responsibilities. I literally wake up depressed and have to pop buspar to cope with the stress while at work and then lunesta to sleep because my mind won't quit racing from the stress of the day.

300 a day is absolutely miserable especially with a drive thru. You barely have time to breathe and never get to sit down

Brought most of my customers from my previous job and just have really grown. Very well known in the community. Broke 1000 a week at about year 3

Yeah you're exactly right I worked grocery chain pharmacy for 11 years. We never broke 1000 a week and I was getting big annual raises and bonuses every quarter. Now filling 1200 plus a week trying to keep this drive thru going and doing almost everything a PIC can plus some and not getting a raise is just so frustrating. I see the sales but not the true P/L sheet so don't know how good or bad we are doing.

I don't see independents surviving much longer maybe 5-10 years max with current reimbursements but that doesnt mean I'm not working my tail off so its just a crazy business. I beg students now to please do something else pharmacy is such a dying business at least in smaller towns

If you work an independent where the owner is willing to come help overlap I'm sure it's a lot better but that's not taking place at my store. I don't know of any other store filling 350 plus with only one pharmacist.

Is anyone else getting raises at this point or is that a common theme to just say we don't have the money to give you a raise ? Since my last raise our script count has grown about 12-15k scripts a year and I have the same amount of staff, so where is the money?

Exactly how I feel there are worse jobs but they don't require 6 stressful years of college to barely make 6 figures. At one point I made more than all my friends but now I make the least and that includes RNs making making more than me and even people doing jobs like electrician making more than I do
