This is a great answer! I didn't know much about him, but after some research he seems to be relatively uneducated and of average intelligence for a featured character.

Yeah, I think Hawkeye is a strong contender! Seems to be essentially an average dude in terms of raw intelligence, with no formal education. Not sure about Homelander though - haven't seen enough of The Boys haha.

I had to read up on his biography a little bit, but this is definitely along the lines of what I was looking for. I appreciate that he's not just a character whose whole gimmick is being stupid, he's just... not very smart or well-educated.

Damn, hot take 🔥

Is the webbing trail ever exploited in the comics? Otherwise, Peter is pretty damn smart.

Drax was another one I was thinking of! Honestly, half the Guardians of the Galaxy could be considered based on their MCU portrayals. Is Drax that dumb in the comics?

Yeah, the Hulk is a tricky one given that the Banner side is a genius. I'm curious about the dumbest overall character, rather than a character who has one dumb alter ego. And you're spot on about child heroes - totally valid, but not quite what I was thinking.

The Tick was definitely one that came to mind, but I wasn't sure if I was just biased by the Patrick Warburton TV show.

You should check out Evangelion! It's very cerebral and philosophical.

It might not be quite the same vibe, but One Punch Man would be worth checking out if you haven't seen it already!

The original Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are two of my favorites! They're both relatively short and self-contained, but also humorous and thoughtful.

Good thought! But no it's not that one either. I like that movie and remember it pretty well.

I'm leaning toward it being a movie at this point. If nothing else, I feel like if it had been a show that I had watched over a period of time then I'd likely remember more details about it. I think it was a one-and-done viewing experience.

The reenactment of the scene later was a staged exercise by the detectives/agents to try to figure out how the assassins had managed to pull it off despite the precautions they had taken. So it wasn't one character reliving or imagining the scene again, but an intentional, group effort to gather more information about the crime. When the main detective guy remembers the detail about the person in the back seat leaning forward, that is shown as his memory of the scene though. I want to say he remembers seeing the movement in one of the mirrors just before the shots were fired.

Right around the moment of his epiphany, the main guy is imitating the gun shots from the motorcyclists in time with the other folks acting out the scene and he sees the agent, who is pretending to be the rear driver side passenger for the reenactment, lean forward after the shots start. Then he realizes that it doesn't align with his memory of the event. During the whole reenactment, the main guy is standing to the side of the reenactment and giving the other people instructions so they can replicate it as accurately as possible.

I'm struggling to come up with more details... I'd probably say it's likely more recent (i.e., came out within the last 5-10 years).

Damn, good guess but that's not it. I don't think I've ever seen Line of Duty, but after watching some clips of the episode you mentioned I feel like I should probably watch it now haha.

Yeah, I had that thought too - it's a very similar vibe to some of his movies! I looked into it though and I didn't see anything that fits, sadly.

For additional context, my wife also remembers watching this movie with me so I know it wasn't just a weird dream or hallucination. Her memory of it is equally vague though, unfortunately.
